The Florida - Gulf Coast Region

Florida is famous for its tropical year round brilliantly sunny weather and warm sandy beaches. The lifestyle is casual, relaxed, yet vibrant with Sarasota's great art, entertainment, dining and sports. And yet Orlandos theme parks are only a 2 hour drive away.

 

Sarasota Area

There are many excellent golf courses within a 30-minute drive. The beautiful beaches on Siesta Key are a short drive away, and Longboat Key and St Armand's Circle are about a 30-minute drive. There is a large shopping mall close by, as well as a range of large stores.

Sarasota has a thriving theater & arts district and parallel to the coast are several islands with great beaches--among them are Longboat Key and Anna Maria Island off Bradenton. Sarasota is favoured by artists, actors and writers who consider it the cultural capital of Florida. It has a choice of theatres, art galleries and districts, delightful boutiques, marinas of big boats and a resounding air of sophistication.

Downtown Sarasota is full of lively bars and restaurants, whilst the Keys caters for more expensive tastes.

The Sarasota area offers the beach lover over 35 miles of spectacular sandy stretches whilst golfers can pick from over 80 courses, with a variety of different terrains and ranging from beginner to Championship.

St Armands Circle is a must to visit, enjoy a leisurely stroll around the many boutiques and possibly have lunch in one of the huge range of celebrated restaurants, you can even sunbathe in between shops.

Departing nightly from Marina Jacks in Downtown Sarasota you can take a tropical sunset cruise, alternatively by day you can take the kids to visit Myakka State Park, or for the more adventurous why not experience the exhilaration
of the thrilling roller coster rides to be found at Busch Gardens, Tampa

 

Getting There

Guests flying from Europe via Atlanta can catch connections to either Tampa (75 minute drive) or Sarasota/Bradenton Airport (15 minute drive). Delta fly via Atlanta and New York from Dublin and Continental Airlines fly via New York. Many airlines fly direct from the UK to Tampa or Orlando (2 hour drive)

There is a luxurious screened heated pool (accessed from the Great Room through double patio doors) facing south to an uninterrupted view over a Florida Preserve. The integral three-car garage may be used to house guests' cars. The community "lap" pool and gazebo are within walking distance and are available free to guests.

The Claddagh Home is a fully air-conditioned property which can accommodate 6 guests in style and comfort. On the First Floor, there is a Living Room open plan with the Dining Room, a further Living Room (the Great Room), a Kitchen and Breakfast area, a powder room and toilet/washroom, a laundry/utility room, an entry foyer, and screened covered entry. On the Second Floor, there is a Master Bedroom with a King-sized bed and large en-suite facilities. In addition,
there are two further bedrooms (one with a Queen-sized bed, the other with twin beds) with shared en-suite facilities.
