A beautiful 2 bedroomed, fully furnished villa with tiled patio, gated garden and private parking to the front. The villa is directly across from the pool which is fenced and has a security gate. When you leave the residence, turn right and a 7 minute walk will take you to a beautiful golden sandy beach and the Mediterranean sea. On the beach front there are different boating activities and you will find a number of restaurants which are open all day and night. If you decide to take a left at the residence gates, a 5 minute walk will bring you into the beautiful little village of Portiragnes Plage. The village is divided into a number of Squares, each of which has a choice of wonderful restaurants which are very reasonably priced and cater for all ages and especially for families. Most days, from about 8am until 12 noon, there will be a market in one of the squares selling everything from leather to lace to wine. Every evening there is something different happening in the main square. It could be a local band, some Flamenco dancing or a market where local people come to show and sell their arts and crafts. If none of this appeals to the kids then why not try the Crazy Golf, the trampolines, the kids amusements or why not hire a 4/6 person bike and take a leisurely ride around the village or just take a gentle stroll around the different squares and soak up the atmosphere. Other night time entertainment includes Europark, which is a huge fun park and a must for all the family. The Canal du Midi, which has beautiful walks, boating and more restaurants is just 5 minutes from the complex. There are a number of horse riding places along the canal where you can hire out horses or ponies for the family and for the adults there are the Quad bikes.

The Languedoc-Roussillon Region

Beziers is the main town. This once Celtic town sits on a hill overlooking the river Orb. From the terrace of St. Nazaire Cathedral the stunning panoramic views will take your breath away. The 600 meters long Promenade in the centre of the town is lined with pavement restaurants, bars and cafés. Numerous festivals take place in Beziers during the Summer. Other nearby towns include Cap d'Agde where you will find scuba diving, Aquapark or you can go on one of the many boat trips or you might like to visit Pezenas. Pezenas itself is a real hub of activity for it’s surrounding villages. With it’s market on a Saturday selling flowers, clothes and an abundance of food and its old cobbled streets and buildings where time seems to have stood still. As well as it’s many bars, cafes and restaurants which give it that unmistakable “French” feel during the summer months when everybody virtually lives outside. Approximately 45 minutes inland is Lac du Salagou where there are a number of beautiful lakeside beaches which offer canoeing and other water activities for all the family. Other beautiful places to visit are Gorges d'Heric Slicing its way through the Black Mountains, the Gorges d'Héric is beautiful and hugely striking. In summer, water trickles from rock pool to rock pool, some of which are the size and depth of swimming pools. In winter, the rains turn the trickle into roaring waterfalls. A road allows you to walk all the way up the gorge - to a café at the top that serves Languedoc's best hot chocolate. Then there is the Camargue, flat marshlands on Languedoc's border with Provence, the Camargue is famous for its pink flamingoes (and many other rare birds), wild horses and bulls. There are many horse riding centres in the area, and nearby Aigues Mortes and the enormous beach of Espiguette are worth a visit too. Another area of particular beauty is Cirque de Navacelles. The view is spectacular - a 'Grand Canyon' formed by the river Vis with a small 'island' at the bottom. But the real fun comes when you drive down to the oasis of green at the bottom. The hamlet is charming, with a couple of simple but pleasant restaurants. Then swim or paddle in the cool waters of the river, with its waterfall, or throw yourself off the rocks into crystal-clear rock pools. There is also Grotte des Demoiselles which is an enormous cave system discovered in 1770 full of spectacular limestone stalactites, stalagmites and columns. You visit the cave on a small train, which makes it all a bit Disneyesque. But the cave is probably the most impressive of the many in Languedoc. Summer crowds can be huge, so come early in the morning in August. Open March - October.
