This traditional 4 storey house has 1 bathroom and a wet room, 2 bedrooms, a living room with sofa bed and the kitchen goes onto a small terrace with views across the town and up the beautiful river valley. The terrace has a table and seats 6 and a cane canopy for shade. All the rooms have internal and external shutters. The main bedroom has french windows onto a small wrought iron balcony that overlooks the street. All floors are ceramic tiled, some with antique flooring. The kitchen has a granite work surface and new appliances and cupboards. Cars are not allowed on via Malaspina but there is parking close by (20m).

The Sardinia Region

Sardinia is a spectacular island with a wonderful climate, unrivalled coast line, and fantastic cuisine. The island is dotted with nuraghe - round stone towers left behind from the inhabitants of the island some 3000 years ago. The Phoenician ruins of Tharros lie 60 km to the south of Bosa in the area of San Giovanni di Sinis famed for its white " rice beaches" made up of tiny grains of quartz and turquoise sea.

Bosa Area

The medieval quarter of Bosa known as Sa Costa is a series of streets that hug the hill up to the castle and is famous for its tall, brightly coloured houses. Bosa is a proper Italian town that is open all year round. The fishing boats come up from the sea and moor on the river front - their catch can be bought that day from the co-operatives. The town's main beach is 5 mins away at Bosa Marina. This has a huge sandy beach which is very family orientated. There is wind and kite surfing in a controlled area for the energetic and a good choice of bars and restaurants for the more languid. There is also a diving centre and organised day trips on boats around the coast. There are also beautiful secluded coves only accessible on foot from the road. In the hills surrounding Bosa there is a rare colony of griffon vultures.
In Spring the island is covered with wild flowers and the hills around Bosa turn yellow with perfumed gorse. In Summer the heat cranks up but the house remains cool with the shutters closed and there is always a breeze on the terrace.
There is a golf course at Is Arenas about 50km away.

Getting There

Fly to Alghero with Ryanair from Stansted, Dublin, Liverpool and East Midlands. Car hire available at airport but try to avoid Hertz because the queues are lengthy. I can arrange for the local taxi firm to collect you - prices start from around 70€
