Trullo Le Rose welcomes you to the hearth of Apulia, in the fantastic village of Alberobello. Alberobello has been declared a UNESCO world heritage site thanks to its countless ?trulli?, incredible stone houses, with their typical and impressive coned roofs, dating back to the 16th century.

The villa is situated in a tranquil setting with no other properties in close proximity, in a ground of 9000 square metres, full of centuries-old olive trees and other fruit trees (figs, prickly pears, cherries and almonds). Trullo Le Rose has been restored in 2008 and all the areas (outdoor and indoor) have been carefully considered during the restoration.

Outdoor there are: a spacious dining area under a shady gazebo (patio) ; a great barbeque where numerous steaks, sausages and fresh fish will be cooked; the spectacular pool is private and measures 9 metres x 5 metres; another shady area with sunbeds near the pool, perfect for relaxing after a swim; an outdoor shower near the pool; a shady patio for the car.

Indoor you can see exposed ancient stone walls along with original fossils on them. These walls are so thick that the rooms remain cool even in the hottest months. The kitchen is equipped with gas hob, oven, fridge, freezer and dish-washer. There is one double room and one twin bedroom with a bunk bed. There is one shower room with shower, WC, basin, bidet and washing-mashine. In the dining room there is a king sofa sleeper.

If you are looking a base from which to explore this fascinating area of Apulia, Trullo delle Rose is an ideal location for that. There are a lot of things to see and to do. The countryside surrounding Alberobello is perfect for walking, horse riding and cycling with its endless routes.

A lot of wonderful festivals take place in Alberobello throughout the summer (but even in winter you will find a lot of events): religious, classical, jazz music and the popular International Folk. A lot of interesting towns are just a short drive and the Adriatic coast with its spectacular sandy beaches is only 20 minutes away. The historic Medieval town of Matera with its ?sassi? 35 kms The Caves of Castellana Grotte 15 kms Safari Park with fun fair in Fasano 15 kms The beautiful whitewashed villages of: Locorotondo (10kms); Ostuni (The White) 15 kms; Cisternino 14 kms Lecce, the ?Florence of the South? 100 kms After a day spent visiting the surrounding area, you may choose to dine on the patio, enjoying the delicious local wine. Puglia is famous for its great wines: the red robust ?Primitivo?; the whites Locorotondo and Martina Franca. Or you can choose to dine in the good and very cheap restaurants where you can enjoy the excellent Mediterranean cooking.

The Puglia/Molise Region

Puglia is a wonderful area to consider. It offers at least one excellent archeological museum, a host of cathedrals dating back to the 10th century, Greek and Roman ruins, a gleaming necklace of lively fishing villages, one of Europe’s largest forests, a chain of medieval hilltowns, and some of the very cleanest beaches and water in the Mediterranean.

Alberobello Area

Alberobello literally means ‘beautiful tree’ and this is where many of the distinctive ‘trulli’: Whitewashed cones made of stones, at the top there is a decoration that has some rebellious or magical meaning. The famous white beehive shaped houses of Puglia have come to symbolise the region. In Alberobello there are over a thousand of them.
Their shape is, in part, due to the economic conditions: at the time it was forbidden to build without the permission of the king Ferdinand I of Aragon, he declared that peasants were not allowed to build permanent homes. Since the stones had no cement, in theory they could be taken apart and moved.

What to see
- The historical center with the especially typical quarters called “Aia Piccola” and “Monti”, wholly composed of “trulli” united to groups and lined up along precipitous and circuitous lanes that climb the hill.
- Sant’Antonio church, built in 1926 in the form of a trullo.
- The Trullo sovrano, the only one with two floors, built in the 18th century locates in a small square behind the Mother Church.

Balance is due cash at the beginning of holiday after the check-in with the manager/owner, if you are not able to pay cash, you should pay the total amount by bank transfer before your arrival (cheques and travellers cheque are not allowed).
Due to security and legal reasons law we will check-in only guests who have compiled our booking-form and agreement.
Security deposit (to be refunded at the end of the stay) EUR 250.
Please be sure to leave the house in good condition.
