Slade Cottage is a beautifully renovated Fishermans cottage right on the tip of the south east coast of wexford. The cottage sits on 1 acre of secured grassland were the kids can play football or whatever activity they would like. There are some beautiful sandy beaches within 5 minutes drive however there is a small beach literally 50 metres from the front door. 100 metres from Slade harbour and Castle where a bag of crab claws can be purchased for €8. You can also go to the top of Slade Castle where you can see for miles around.
Hook Head lighthouse is about a Mile from slade cottage and a beautiful walk can be had walking accross the fields and coast. Hook Head is one of the top scuba diving sites in ireland and Slade cottage is 5 doors down from the Hook Sub Aqua Club premises where you can get your aqualungs filled and also organise boat dives. The view from upstairs and the 18 foot bay window in the dining room look straight out to the famous Saltee Islands. There are 3 entrances to the property all secured by gates. Up to 10 cars can be parked in the various drives. If you are a fisherman and want to fish from the shore, Hook is an ideal place. Whale watches are also held here every year.

Getting There
From Rosslare Duncannon and Fethard-on-sea are sign posted. Straight thru wellingtonbridge, thru fethard-on-sea. Drive into Fethard village and follow the signs for Hook Head. 5 miles approximately to Hook Head you come to a junction which to the left is sign posted Slade. Take this turn and follow the road to the house on the very corner. Blue Gates.
From Dublin: Take the N11 for wexford, keep on the N11 and follow the signs for Rosslare. Once you come to the main rosslare roundabout, follow the instructions as outlined above. Slade cottage is approximately 2.5 hours from the Airport.
