This is a luxurious, extremely comfortable holiday villa, with a large private swimming pool (12x6x1.4 meters) complete with pool house (changing room, bathroom and outside kitchen and barbecue). It offers a perfect setting for a relaxing and healthy break from the bustling city, or for a romantic holiday. The property (sleeping a total of 15 guests) consists of two very spacious apartments which can be rented together or separately :
The upper floor, Matilda, sleeps 8 people max, and is perfect for families. It has a very nice room (in the turret), with a queen bed ; twin beds room near the terrace (mansarde room) ; four beds are located on the mezzanine, designed by our architect to be safe for kids ; the mezzanine has a wide view on the surrounding countryside.
The lower floor (the largest one), Julia, has three main bedrooms, one with a queen bed (the red room), one with twins beds (the green room, can be turned into a single king size bed), and one with twin beds (the children's bedroom, the blue one). This floor has a huge living space composed of a 40sqm kitchen and a 40sqm living room. The dining-room table "indoor" can welcome 10 to 12 persons. A big table under the porch is fit for up to 20 people.

The large (4000 sq. meter) garden area, full of flowers, attractive shrubs and fruit trees, is set amid groves of olive trees and vineyards. The hospitable multilingual owners spend weekends at their home (150 meters away) where the estate's products (oil, wine, homemade jams, etc.) are available for purchase.There are walks in several directions over fields and paths including a path to the nearby medieval village of Civitella del Lago (4 km away), where there are shops, a doctor, hairdressers, several good typical Tuscan/Umbrian restaurants and a post office. Banks with currency exchanges facilities, garages, bars and coffee shops are located in Orvieto (20 km away).

The Umbria Region

Some local activities include: cycling, tennis, walking and horseback riding. Elciarelli is well placed for seeing Tuscany and Umbria, and is an excellent base for exploring Todi, Orvieto, Gubbio, Spoleto, Assisi and Spello. The station in Orvieto has trains to Perugia, Siena, Arezzo, Cortona, Montepulciano. Florence (San Sepolcro, Piero della Francesca), is only 1 hour away, Rome 1 hour 10mn, Arezzo 45mn. A spectacular 20 minute drive over the hills offers you Lake Bolsena, one of Italy's most beautiful lakes. Subtly beautiful in itself, with miles of placid water, low hills, olive groves and vineyards, the lake is also wonderful for water-sports and swimming.

Orvieto Bolsena Area

We especially recommend visiting the fascinating medieval towns of Todi, Spoleto and Orvieto. The whole area in fact offers a wealth of cultural events and festivals during the summer period: e.g. the world-renowned Festival of the Four Worlds in Spoleto, free classical and jazz concerts in Orvieto and Todi, the Todi artisan fair (one of the most famous of its type in Italy). Also, in the summer months, there are umpteen culinary events in nearby villages which gives on the opportunity of sampling the local food while enjoying the pleasant evenings with the locals...without having to cook!

We ask for a deposit that will be determined according the lengh of your stay.
The swimming pool is shared with the owners when they are here.
Please ask us if you wish to take a class in italian cooking (my mother is a cordon bleu, and we have 2 pizza oven in the garden)
Also ask in advance if you would like us to arrange for baby-sitting.
