This complexity of culture is matched by a startling diversity of landscape that includes the smouldering Mt Etna, an aquamarine coastline with a tiara of Aeolian Islands and Parco Naturale Regionale Delle Madonie.

Today, Sicily’s new generation is loathe to remain trapped in the past. New ventures are seeing aristocratic entrepreneurs prising open the doors of some of Europe’s finest palazzi and villas, while sensitive agriturismi (farm stay accommodations) are shedding light on Sicily’s hidden rural treasures and national parks. Sicily also has a refreshing lack of neon-blazing entertainment and theme parks, which further helps preserve its individuality and appeal.

 

Noto Area

Knew as the Sicily's "Baroque City," Noto is in the province of Syracuse, in the south-eastern corner of Sicily. The town is located about 35 kilometres south west of the city of Syracuse. Old Noto was completely destroyed in the extremely violent earthquake that struck Eastern Sicily in 1693. The present site of Noto was rebuilt from scratch, and almost entirely in the Baroque style, the prevailing style of building in Sicily at the time.

Noto is a world heritage site and billed as the most attractive of the Baroque towns in south east Sicily.
- Cathedral of Noto - The Basilica stands on the summit of a magniloquent staircase consisting in three flights of steps dating back to the eighteenth century but restored at the beginning of the nineteenth century. The facade is closed off by two imposing bell towers and it is topped by two late eighteenth-century statues

- Via Nicolaci - Infiorata of Noto. Exhibition which attracts thousands of tourists every year, the third Sunday of May. A street covered with splendid mosaics made with flower petals, in a corner dream. The event was founded twenty-eight years ago, this new painting technique allows teachers infioratori to make a flowered carpet along the way Nicolaci.

By Plane from Catania airport (www.aeroporto.catania.it) which is about 80 km away from Noto.
By train
- Nearest railway station is Noto (www.trenitalia.it) which is about 3 km away from villa. Trains come from every major town in Italy. Regional trains are frequent.
By Car coming from North
Driving on the 18 ME-CT-SR e A19 PA-CT-SR, exit Bivio Cassibile follow directions to S.S. 115 then for Noto and then stop at the pick-up point.
Head northwest on Viale C. Confalonieri/SP15 toward Via Giorgio Sidney Sonnino
Continue to follow SP15
Go through 1 roundabout
Turn left onto Via Francesco Maiore
Continue onto Ronco Donnola
Continue onto Via Giovanni Aurispa
Turn left onto Via Duca Giordano
At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Via Italo Svevo
Continue onto SP64
Destination will be on the right go 130 m

Rental Details

Balance is due cash at the beginning of holiday after the check-in with the manager/owner, if you are not able to pay cash, you should pay the total amount by bank transfer before your arrival (cheques and travellers cheque are not allowed).
Due to security and legal reasons law we will check-in only guests who have compiled our booking-form and agreement.
Security deposit (to be refunded at the end of the stay) EUR 250 or a Credit Card with signed application form.
Please be sure to leave the house in good condition.
Pets are normally not accepted. Please enquire.
Final cleaning mandatory EUR 100.
Intermediate cleaning mandatory for stay more than one week.
Arrival time is mandatory in the afternoon between 4pm and 8pm (unless otherwise agreed). At arrival later than 8pm an extra charge will be applied.
Please advise us of your departure time at least 24 hours before. The check-out must be taken not later than 10 am.
Electricity is billed by use at EUR 0,30 per KW/h.
Bed linen and bath towels available on request - EUR 10 per person.
Heating - if used - is billed at EUR 100 per week.
