The Fuerteventura Region

Located just 100 kilometres off the coast of Africa, it is the second biggest of the Canary Islands, after Tenerife, and has the longest beaches in the archipelago. The island is a paradise for sun, beach and water sports enthusiasts. Flag beach is where to go for the most colourful and beautiful display of kite surfers.

The island is widely believed to be the oldest of the Canary Islands. Its strange form was created out of a series of volcanic eruptions many thousands of years ago. The island is on the same latitude as Florida and Mexico and temperatures here rarely fall below 18°C. There are no fewer than 152 beaches along its coastline - 50 kilometres of fine, white sand.

 

Corralejo Area

Here in Corralejo you have the best of both worlds with the "Old Harbour" and the new extension of the town where the "Baku Water Park" and theme area is located. There is a market held every week beside water park. There is also the Animal Experience which is 5 mins from apartment. There are many other activities such as visits to the Islands of Lobos and Lanzarote. Also take a trip on a Catamaran or there is the possibility to go deep sea fishing in the unbelievably transparent waters. Scuba Diving is another popular activity in the crystal clear waters. Feel like getting to the heart of the unspoilt barren land - Take a trip in a buggy across the North Shores. If you fancy getting out and about why not visit the Zoo and even take a camel ride! Here there are a number of shows such as Parrot, Crocodile and Sea Lions. Well worth a visit.

 

Getting There

Aer Lingus flies direct to Fuerteventura on a Tuesday and a Saturday. They fly direct all through summer. Flight departs Dublin at 15.15 and arrives Fuerteventura at 19.25. Return flight departs Fuerteventura at 20.25 and arrives Dublin 00.35.

Ryan Air fliles direct to Fuerteventura on Tuesday and Saturday. They depart Dublin 07.00 and arrive Fuerteventura 11.10. Return Flight departs Fuerteventura at 11.45 and arrives Dublin at 16.05
Ryan Air have introduced an extra Friday summer flight for July and August. It departs Dublin at 14.25 and arrives in Fuerteventura at 18.25. The return Flight Departs Friday at 19.20 and Arrives Dublin at 23.40.

You can book direct flights from Dublin with Falcon Holidays, Sunway Travel. Falcon Holidays do allow you to book flight only for 1,2 or 3 weeks.

You can also book flights with Tour Operators such as Direct Holidays or JWT Holidays. I would reccommend car hire company www.cicar.com which are located at arrivals. Cicar arvery efficient and good value. Taxi rank outside airport. 30 minutes to Corralejo Euro35.
