The Algarve Region

Some of Europe’s best and cleanest sandy beaches, picturesque rocky coves and year round sunshine, the Algarve has it all!

Albufeira is the Algarve’s largest resort and is the type of place where you can start the day with a full Irish, watch live
football in a sports bar and then head down to the nearest bar for a couple of pints and try out the many fabulous restaurants.
With seven cliff-sheltered shores around this area you can spend your days soaking up the sun on one of the golden sandy beaches.
Market day – Check out the weekly market (Monday to Saturday) in Quarteira, haggle for bargains and have a stroll around the palm-lined seafront promenade.

Seafood eat it! – Not surprisingly the Algarve is known for its fish. Two key specialities are cataplana, which is a type of fish stew and carne de porco com amêijoas, which is pork cooked with clams.

Local brew – Portuguese table wines are very cheap and of good quality. The Algarve area produces some highly drinkable vinho. Among Portugal’s best-known exports are port and Madeira which you should definitely sample when visiting the Algarve!

Albufeira Area

There are at least three Water Parks close to Albufeira, also Zoo-Marine where you can swim with Dolphins and view the marine life.
Watersports can be found on Oura beach, Plenty of boat trips and excursions.
Jeep Safaris, horse riding can all be found nearby.
There are three golf courses within 15 min drive.

Fly to Faro Airport with Ryanair or Aerlingus from Dublin, Knock, Derry, Easyjet from Belfast.
