The Normandy Region

Whatever are your preferences planned tours or unexpected discoveries, La Manche offers visitors numerous activities, sightseeing, 350kms of coastlines, endless sandy beaches.

Granville: seaside resort, water sports center, international golf course, casino and horse races
Famous dressmaker C.Dior's house, garden and museum are worth a visit.
Excellent sea-food restaurants, good shopping. Harbour to Channel Islands for a day trip !
The Cathedral town of Coutances (11th & 13th c.) has a magnificent botanical garden and a yearly Jazz festival (2008, April 26th to May 3rd), pavement restaurants and pubs.

Saint-Lô: first national Stud Farm, "Normandy Horse Show" (2008, 33rd week), Fine Arts museum, "Gourmet walks" in July/August, cafés-bars, pubs and good restaurants. Antiques shops and auction room, old streets & ramparts.
Markets are on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Since 13thc. and the Knights of Malta, Villedieu-les-Poêles is famed for its copperware, bell foundries and museums.
The town preserves its ancient aspect, courtyards, medieval stairways, tiny shops and offers a busy market on Tuesday morning. There is a swimming pool and a cinema ... only 10' drive from Joug d'Antan .

Along the Liberty Road, you visit Avranches, Carentan, Ste Mère Eglise
D'Day Landing beaches, the 2WW's cemeteries, Arromanches, Colleville/mer, Longues/mer

Crossings, Guided walks and Nature Trails in the Bay of the Mont-Saint-Michel
Bayeux, its Cathedral and spectacular "Tapestry", you will enjoy tiny shops and good restaurants.
Medieval Fair with evening market: 1st week-end of July the town traces back the History (40 000 visitors/year !!)

Cherbourg: "City of the sea", numerous museums, gardens and parks, "Ravalet's Castle" and "Basilique de la Trinité"
"Marité" largest three-masted french ship restauration (until 07 Sept 16th, free entree)
Top West coast: The Sheep' fair (August 1st w.end) & the large sandy bay of Vauville, its old village and houses, the botanical garden and castle.
East coast: the lovely Port of Barfleur and Tatihou 's island, a good tip for the whole family.

7 Golf courses in the area: nearest Granville 9/18 holes, par 31/71 and Brehal 9 holes par 62, then Coutainville (18 holes par 68)
Water & Leisure parks ( Village enchanté), forest adventure(La Forêt des Elfes), karting, mini-golf.

Two other trips, both excellent family day out:
"Les Ponts d'Ouve" in Marais countryside is a natural park with bird watching walk in the morning and an afternoon boat ride through the marshlands.
"Labyrinthe de la Baie" this amazing maize maze has three runs/levels, quiz questions to guide you on your way.
There is also a children's mini maze. The place offers a stunning view of the Mont-Saint-Michel

Percy Area

Situated along the "Liberty Road" yet in the heart of the "Bocage normand" you will find in Percy and nearby:

- Horse riding center, Jumping national championship (August) in Percy
- Hiking, several walked tours are on your doorstep.
- Tennis courts, Fishing,
- Exotical garden and Zoo in Champrepus where the animals live in semi-liberty (15' drive)
- "Welcome to the farm", local production of Calvados, cider and Cheeses' paradise with Camembert, Coutances...
- Taste the speciality "Andouille" (a pork chitterling sausage) in La Baleine (7 miles), there is a mini golf and créperie
- Car boot & Fleas "Brocantes & Vide-greniers" all around from March to October

Percy has: butchers, grocers, chemist, doctors, Tourists and Post office, bar-tabac and a friendly "Liberty-bar" café, a small supermarket, 3 "Boulangeries- Patisseries".
Do you like freshly cooked "crêpes" (thin pancakes) for your breakfast? Every morning, 1' drive to our local factory !
