The Paphos District Region

The origins of Paphos date back to the 4th century; initially only a small village it soon became the capital of western Cyprus.
With historical events including the imprisonment of the apostle Paul, earthquakes and Arab invasions Paphos is a place of enormous historical diversity!
As a result of its history Paphos has plenty of places of interest. There is everything from Roman ruins to a Byzantine Palace. The Greek goddess Aphrodite has been sourced to this area, and her birthplace is acclaimed to have been off the coast of Paphos; her birth having been depicted by Botticelli in "The Birth Of Venus". Paphos is included in UNESCO the list of cultural and natural treasures of the world heritage.

 

Argaka Area

Argaka village a short distance from Polis about 15 minutes drive. Polis is one of the' up and coming areas in Cyprus the town of Polis huddled around a pedestrian's square with a wide selection of restaurants, taverns and cafes, The next village is Latchi.This pretty harbour village is situated on the north-west coast of the island, on the broad sweep of Chrysochou Bay, and looking eastwards to Pomos. Latchi Harbour where you will find traditional fishing boats alongside modern yachts. On the harbourside is an excellent selection of fish restaurants serving a large variety of traditional cypriot food. During the day time Latchi has a wide range of water sports available as well as two diving schools.
