The apartment is arranged over two floors. The first floor has a large kitchen diner with full cooking facilities. The large lounge leads onto the lower balcony with sea views. The bedroom and bathroom on this floor belong to the owners.
On the top floor there is a beautiful guest room with twin bedded accommodation and small en-suite bathroom. Next to this room is a second larger bathroom and second bedroom, with sofa bed tastefully arranged as a lounge with TV/DVD/Radio players all leading to the most lovely terrace giving magnificent views to the Mediterranean Sea, pine covered mountains surrounding Fethiye and views of the floodlit Lycian Tombs. The large terrace has a hammock, 2 sun loungers, BBQ, dining table and chairs with shade provided. The property is sympathetically furnished with old Turkish rugs/carpets, pictures and Turkish antiques collected by the owner who has travelled extensively throughout Turkey. Over the past year she has written and had published 3 articles in Overseas Property & TV Magazine about life and her travels and experiences in Turkey.
There is a guest fridge, tea and coffee making facilities. There is air conditioning to all rooms which provide cold or hot air as the season dictates. There is also additional heating in winter but electricity is charged per user usage.
A 10 minute walk along the promenade brings you into the heart of Fethiye with its vibrant shops/cafebars/restaurants/harbour front. There is a wonderful fish market where, when you choose your fish, the surrounding restaurants will cook for you. During the season (April to the end of October) the daily boats take visitors on the 12 Island Tours including lunch for about £6. The Tour actually takes in 5 out of the 12 islands at the discretion of the captain. Local boats can be hired privately by the day or days/weeks.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia Region
Hot in the summer, mild and wet in the winter. Exceptional winter sunshine alot of the time.
History - where can one begin. Ottoman history, Ataturk history , Hittites, Lycians, Romans and many others colour this wonderful country. Turkey spans two continents - Europe and Asia. Because of its unique location peoples have moved in both directions - east and west. This huge traffic has left monuments, dynasties and lasting cultural legacies all of which have contributed to modern Turkey today.
Places of interest - Explore the beautiful natural unspoilt coastline & beaches. Famous resorts like Olu Deniz, Dalyan, Patara, Kalkan, Kas and even Antalya are only a bus ride away. Further afield is the famous Ephesus site; Pammukale (cotton castle) and Capadoccia area. Saklikent is a famous Gorge just one hour away by road, or visit Kaya Village just over the mountain for a cooler climate, delightful walks, swimming pools (free to use) with wonderful Ghost town of the Kaya houses inhabited until 1923 by a Greek population.
Fethiye is surrounded by over 70 small villages all accessible by dolmus which give an authentic day to day experience of life in Turkey in the countryside.
Half an hour away by car is the beautiful coastal town of Gocek with its superb waterfront restaurants and boutique shops. Many rich and famous people have visited this delightful resort. During the season on Sundays from Fethiye harbour there is a day trip to Gocek for those wishing to visit the market.
Antalya is just 2.5 hours away by car and beyond that the famous Aspendos Theatre which has a summer open air festival of Opera and Ballet in the magnificent Roman amphitheatre. Well worth a visit.
Fethiye Area
Fethiye is a delightful resort the whole year round. Always vibrant with plenty to see and do. Many resorts close down in the winter months (out of the tourist season and become ghost towns). The shops are open in winter as are most restaurants & cafe bars. There are two cinemas in Fethiye, a cultural centre with traditional singing and dancing and often local craft exhibitions. There are also 3 Turkish Baths which must be experienced.
The local network of Dolmus (local mini-buses) which are cheap and plentiful travel to all surrounding towns and villages. Besides the two local markets in Fethiye, Calis a beach area just 3 kilometres away has a lively Sunday Market.
For those wishing to visit Calis Beach there is a daily water service taxi boat from Fethiye Harbour every half hour during the summer season.
In season all the usual watersports,(swimming/diving/snorkellings/sailing/ etc) fishing trekking, horseriding and paragliding from Olu Deniz (not for the feint hearted) There are numerous jeep safari visits to local sights. The list is endless.
There are also all the year round nearby Thermal Resorts or pools with temperatures of 39 degrees. Activities, particularly out of season include local quiz nights, bridge clubs, ceramic class, yoga, Turkish dancing, aerobics, saunas, jacuzzi's, Turkish Baths, walking groups, trekking, horseriding, art classes, sports activities and lots more besides.

Just 3 hours by car - completely different resorts with different experiences. The owners are friends and can accommodate any arrangement. Getting There
Flights all year round from Manchester & London Gatwick with Onur Air (see Aegeanflights.com, Thomas Cook (see flythomascook.com; and now Easyjet from March 2008. All bookable on the internet. During the Tourist Season (April to October) flights from airports such as Cardiff, Bristol, Birmingham, East Midlands, Scottish and Irish airports to name but a few. Charter flights include Excel Airways, First Choice, My Travel, Monarch, Thomas Cook, Onur Air - check internet for other Operators as they can change each year.
Car hire available in Fethiye or at the Airport can be arranged by the Owners
Pick-Up Service offered by the Owners for £30 one way which is much cheaper than local taxi's or airport taxi's.

Local shops and restaurants just a few minutes walk. The sea is at the bottom of the road with a newly extended promenade with new restaurants offering delightful cuisine or just a simple Turkish tea at reasonable prices.
