This beautifully restored house is in a fabulous location over looking the beach just a two min walk to the sea in the north of the island. The house has its own mature garden, terrace, sun loungers, BBQ, and outdoor thatch covered 'breeze house' dining area with sea views.Inside the house there is a large kitchen with the following facilities grill, 4 ring stove, fridge/freezer, oven, there is also a washing machine & lounge room with seating for 8. The large master bedroom has a large built in Wardrobe en suite bathroom with jet bath. Bedroom Two has twin beds and this bedroom is next to the second bathroom. The master bedroom has the en-suite bathroom which has a jet bath set in a wooden surround and a separate shower with large shower head. Both bathrooms have glass and steel sinks and Moroccan mirrors. The 3rd bathroom is set in the pool area. The house is on one level and there is a further sofa bed in the living room.
The estate runs on the larges wind and solar power system on Lanzarote and is a unique example of sustainable living. There are 30 solar panels, batteries and 2 large windmills. This rural location is a perfect setting for a relaxing holiday in the country with the beauty of being next to the beach. There is also an added bonus of farm eggs every morning from our free range hens. This area of Lanzarote is fantastic for walking/mountain biking etc. Or maybe you just want to relax and read a good book next to the pool in peaceful surroundings.

VILLA AND GARDENS

The Lanzarote Region

Lanzarote off the northwestern coast of Africa is blessed with abundant sunshine & cooling trade winds, volcanic peaks & stunning child friendly beaches some of fine white sand & others of black volanic sand. The Island is 37 miles long & 20 wide & is a perfect year round destination for sun seekers & water sports enthusiasts, thers are some great spots for diving snorkeling, windsurf, kitesurf & surf. Nearby attractions include Jameos del Agua, Cactus Garden, Mirador del Rio, Green Caves and the Valley of a Thousand Palms only 10 minutes away where there is a Saturday morning local craft market. The neighbouring village of Arrieta boasts one of the best family beaches on the island which has a tapas beach bar and restaurant, toilets and shower facilities. This is a stunning location to enjoy the unusual black sands and the scenic mountain landscape of rural Lanzarote. The historic village of Teguise, where you can take a stroll through the meandering lanes and watch local artists at work or visit the Sunday Market, all this is only a 15 minute drive. The island?s capital is 30 minutes drive, where the airport is located. The island's only 18 hole golf course, situated in Costa Teguise, is only a 15 minute drive away.

Arrieta Area

Lanzarote is ideal for water sports and boasts a good range. WINDSURFING - This is available from two of the nearest points to the property either on Arrieta Beach just in front of the house or at Jameos Del Agua. Costa Teguise being just 15 mins away has numerous places where you can hire equipment and have a great sail. SEA KAYAK - This is also available in Costa Teguise. DIVING - There are numerous places for diving on the island the nearest to the propery is at Arrieta Village. KITE SURFING - is increasing growing here and Famara beach is the main place to sail here. SURFING - best waves are either off East Coast Arrieta beach or Punta Mujeres or West Coast at Famara. You can have lessons and hire equipment at Famara. SAILING - For a day out sailing the prestigious Puerto Calero offers either private yacht or speed boat charters or a day out on a 80ft Catarmaran. FISHING - You can always go fishing either from the pier at Arrieta or go out on a boat from Puerto Calero.
There is an 18 hole golf course in Costa Teguise about 15 minutes from the property, the course is set at the foot of an old volcano, surrounded by 3000 palms, cactus and beautiful views to the sea. Group or individual classes are available from one of the two golf professionals.

Getting There

Arrecife, Lanzarote is the international airport. You are able to hire cars at the Airport, I will send you detailed directions. If you have any problem en-route then just call!! The house is approx 30 mins drive.

The shared solar heated pool and chill out area consists of the 10 meter lap pool, a jet pool, a covered Polynesian style day bed with thatched roof, large open entertaining suite with gas BBQ, covered 2nd Kitchen, dining table for 8 people, music system, Moroccan style floor seating and guest toilet with shower. This area is also set with mature gardens, sun loungers, panoramic sea and mountain views.
WiFi connection is available within the Eco Retreat.
There are some great tracks from the estate for mountain biking, this is a quiet part of the island and there is plenty to explore and discover. There are bikes at the retreat for your use all free of charge.

Finca de Arrieta - simply put, one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed. Can't recommend it enough.

We had a very pleasant and delightful week in september, just a short walk away from the beach. Inside, beautiful colours and full of luxury, very comfortable. The nice welcome with a bottle of wine, sleeping with the sound of the sea in the background, the sun - all together: I would love to go immediately again!

We stayed at the eco villa at Finca de Arrieta with our 9-year old twins. What a wonderful family holiday we had-- our kids had so much fun bouncing on the trampoline, swimming at the beach, exploring the sites and just hanging out, eating the home-grown eggs and papaya. I can't say enough about how welcome we were made to feel by Michelle and Tila and their kids. They provided lots of great information about what to see and do during our time there, where to eat, and which local wines to take home. It was an incredible opportunity to learn about life in another country, meet some great people, and relax. We count our week there as one of our best family holidays and look forward to returning one day!
