Ideal modern family holiday apartment, situated a short walk from the beautiful beach and the 'centre-ville' of Valras Plage. Apartment fully equipped, sleeps 4-5 people. 1 double bedroom with storage, 1 mezzanine with 2 single beds a wardrobe and cupboards. There is a double sofa bed in the living area. Bathroom with shower, 2 wash basins and w.c. The kitchen area is fully equipped with cooker hob, mini oven/grill, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, kettle, coffee making machine etc.
The apartment also has a T.V. DVD player, radio and CD player. South facing balcony (that overlooks the swimming pool) complete with patio furniture including two recliners and a retractable awning. Secure and safe location, with designated parking space, well maintained gardens and play area.
Changeover day Saturday. Departure, before 10.00 hours. Arrival after 16.00 hours.

The Languedoc-Roussillon Region
The Languedoc, situated in the South of France, enjoys 300 days of sunshine a year. It is the largest wine growing area in France. From the mountains in the north to the Mediterranean Sea in the south, it provides the visitor with a diverse range of sights and activities. Discover the World Heritage Site of Le Cite in Carcassonne, the beautiful Pont du Gard. The extraordinary man made Canal Du Midi which links the Atlantic to the Mediterranean is a must. Visit the vibrant city of Beziers, a short drive away with it's wide Boulevard Pierre Paul Riquet (architect of the Canal Du Midi) and his engineering triumph, Les Neufs Ecluses. Further to the east, the protected area of Carmague, with flamingoes, wild white horses and the bulls reared for bullfighting in the arenas of Arles and Beziers.
Valras Plage Area
At the Mediterranean Sea, set amongst the vineyards of the Languedoc Roussillion region, lies the charming fishing village of Valras Plage. Boasting a Blue Flag beach, stretching for 4 km of manicured golden sand. The local amenities include many shops, banks, a post office, internet cafe, cafes, bars and numerous restaurants. There are a number of bike hire facilities to explore the local area. In high season take a boat across the River Orb (with bikes) and enjoy nature as you cycle along it's protected environment. The 3 star Office du Tourisme is available to assist you with any queries and advice on local attractions. In summer the large market is held on Mon and Fri along the seafront and picturesque port. Locally caught fish and seafood is widely available every day. In the summer evenings free open air concerts are held in the port's amphitheatre. So whether you want to soak up the sunshine, enjoy the sand and sea, explore the countryside, taste the many local wines direct from the owners or dine in the many varied restaurants, Valras Plage has it all.
Getting There
By air: Ryanair direct from Dublin, Cork, to Carcassonne (1 hour). From Dublin to Gerona (Spain) 2 hours. Dublin to Marseille, Rodez (2 hours).
Aer Lingus direct from Dublin to Toulouse and Marseille (2 hours). New 2011 Dublin to Perpignan (1 hour)
From the UK there are numerous options with Ryanair to the above airports plus Montpellier, Nimes and the newest routes from Bristol and London Luton to Beziers (15 minutes).
Check out other low cost airlines for alternative options. All major car hire companies available at all airports.
By train: TGV from Paris to Beziers in 4 hours.

McMullan, Sep 09; It was brilliant. Weather, apartment, area, the Canal du Midi, pool view, restaurants, especially the square all superb. 20 years in this area and didn't know about Valras. Be in contact again have it on my favourites.
