The Dalmatia Region

Dalmatia is characterised by the highest number of sunny days that on some of the islands and along the deep southern coast number as many as 315 a year! Island of Brac Area

Split Summer Festival is the Festival of drama, opera, music and dancing performances and also the event that awards the best of them traditionally in two categories: music and drama.

It will take place between 14th July and 14 August in the Mediterranean ambience of the City of Split.

The Festival will be in the historic core and outside it, hosting many performances of dance, theatre and music forms from Croatia

 

Getting There

Split is situated in the middle of the Dalmatian coast and makes an excellent entry point. There are non-stop flights to Split from London, Cologne, Frankfurt, Munich, Prague and Rome. If you're coming from Italy, you'll find frequent ferries all year from Ancona and less frequent ferries from Pescara. Split is connected by bus with most other Croatian cities as well as Ljubljana, Mostar and Sarajevo.

As of 31st October 2006, five airlines have direct, scheduled flights from the UK to Croatia: British Airways, Easyjet, Wizz Air, Ryanair and Croatia Airlines, whilst Aer Lingus have flights from Dublin to Dubrovnik.
