The Paphos District Region

Paphos is situated on the West coast of Cyprus. It was a busy and thriving port and once the capital city of Cyprus, under the successors of Alexander the Great - the Ptolemies. It continued to be the islands most important city for more than seven centuries, and retained its importance under the Roman rule. Wherever you look in Paphos you will see its history and heritage, from archaeological sites, to ancient monuments. The town's focal point is its picturesque fishing harbour, where you can find Paphos Fort and lots of little open-air cafes and tavernas. Paphos is also has the islands second international airport.

Polis Area

Goudi is a lovely little village with a small river crossing it, a historical bridge and orange groves as far as you can see. Goudi village is situated along the Chrysochou valley and on the bank of the Chrysochou River. It is a very quiet village and contains a mixture of traditional and modern houses. It is 4 km from Polis and its amenities and attractive beaches and 30 km from Paphos. The Chrysochou valley is famous for its orange and lemon groves and numerous blossoming almond trees in spring. There is a modern olive press in Goudi that serves not only locals, but also the olive producers of nearby villages.
