El Arpa offers holiday apartments for 2 persons in a green area on a 50.000 sqm plot going down to the lake. Here you can enjoy life no matter if you choose to relax in the beautiful surroundings under the southern sun enjoying the peace - or you temp to use one of the many activity options that nature offers you and which is just outside the doors of the holiday apartments.

El Arpa offers relaxing holiday accommodation in four self-catering apartments for two persons with a double or two single beds. The apartments are comfortably furnished and the Spanish charm is well keept. All with a well-equipped kitchen with four-burner hob, frigde with freezer and dining set for four people and an equipped bathroom with shower. To make your arrival comfortable we provide you with a little welcome pack to make your first day easier.
Every apartment has it's own private entrance and in front a little patio or terrace with a barbecue to make your Spanish nights unforgettable. While enjoying the beautiful view over the lake you can make tasty grilled meat or vegetables on the barbecue and not to forget the taste of the delicious Spanish wines. Just outside your apartment we have made a little herb garden and you are more than welcome to use a tuft of tasteful Rosemary or Oregano in your dinner.

The Costa Del Sol Region
Our finca is situated near Ardales and El Chorro, this area is a thrue Mekka for nature lovers and outdoor entusiasts, no matter age.
The lakes are devided into three different lakes called; Embalse de Gaitanejo, Embalse del Conde de Guadalhorce and the biggest of them all Embalse del Gualdalteba-Guadalhorce, which is the one in front of our finca.
The neighbouring villages are Alora, Antequera, Pizzara, Bobadilla and Campillos. El Torcal is close by and spectaculary formed from limestone weathered over eons of time and its moon-like landscape makes it a "must see" attraction.
By El Chorro you find the most overwhelming natural gorge, here an enormous rock has been divided as with an axe and the edge is very sharp and narrow, it is called La Garganta del Chorro; the throat of the spring. The water runs from the lakes and a bridge connects the two rock sides where the train goes through on the Malaga-Cordoba run.
Alcazar de Bobastro by El Chorro is the remainings of an old Moorish fortress and the ruins of the first chuch in Spain; Iglesia Rupestre de Bobastro.
The nature reserve by our finca is called Desfiladero de los Gaitones and has an area of 2.016 hectares situated between the municipalities of Ardales, Antequera og Alora. The area is characterized by it's many funny and fascinating stone structures which have evolved through thousands of years by water and wind.
A dramatic and lovely tourist attraction is La Garganta del Chorro; a 3 kilometre long and 400 meter high gorge, which connect the three lakes; Embalse de Gaitanejo, Embalse del Conde de Guadalhorce og Embalse del Guadalteba-guadalhorce by the river Guadlahorce that runs to the coast of Málaga.
The area's flora is a true pleasure for everyone. Lots of aromatic pine, eucalyptus, olive, oak tree, cactus and cypres. Smaller vegetation as rosemary, thyme, vild roses and different flowers make small bushes upto 40 cm high. No matter the time of the year the nature is always covered in the most beautiful colors and the air is fresh and clean.
In the area around Ardales - one of the many small white villages - you will find the cave Cueva Dona Trinidad Grund. Inside the more than 20.000 year old cave you can see mural paintings of bulls and deers.
A rich bird and animal life is to be found inside the nature reserve. Here you can meet the Iberian goat, wild rabbits, fox, dormouse, badger, wild cats and all kinds of lizards and geckos. But only harmless animals.
In the air such magnificent birds as the golden eagle, the kestrel, the vulture and hawkish can be seen hovering. Horned owl and innumerable smaller birds as sparrow, reed warbler, thrush, titmouse and chitterlings are close as the lakes are ground area for many birds of passage.
Malaga Area
By the lake you will find different restaurants and picnic sites as the area is a quite popular excursion spot. Here you have the option to do different watersports such as kayak or canoeing. You can even fish in the lake, we have a couple of fine fishing rods for free disposal.
Do you enjoy walking or mountainbiking you will find several marked walking paths across the fields. And the mountains behind our finca have some of Spain's best possibilities for mountain climbing. Paragliding and Rapelling is also very popular.
The beautiful lakes and the amazing mountains is just outside the door of your holiday apartment. All kinds of activities can be explored here.
Kayaks and waterbikes are rented out at 3 different places by the lakes. Here you also find different picnic places where you can enjoy yourselves for a hole day.
Paragliding points are only 1,5 km. from the finca and the mountains behind gives you some of the best climbing or rappelling challenges in Spain.
As well as endless kilometers of hiking, running and mountain bike routes.
Getting There
El Arpa is located in El Chorro, Antequera, Málaga, Andalucia, Southern Spain.
Only 45 minuts easy drive from Malaga´s international airport Pablo Picasso. With plenty of good flight connections from UK using British Airways, Easyjet, Ryanair or Air Berlin just to mention some of them.
We do recommend the use of a car during your stay, but it is possible to use the train and a taxi to get to the finca.

El Arpa means The Harp Vineyard and is an old Spanish farm on a 50.000 square meter plot with direct access to a beautiful lake.
We have had it renovated (2007) for you to enjoy your next holidays in peaceful surroundings.
In our garden you find lots of cosy places with sunchairs and benches to relax and enjoy the sun, whether you choose to be amoung the other guests or on your one, there is plenty of room for everyone.
When the sun is shining and you need to cool down the tempting lake is just a short walk away with its fresh and clean water to swim in.
The garden has lots of wild nature and typical Spanish vegetations suchs as olive trees, pines and almonds which will be in blossom from January to March with the most beautiful white and pink flowers.
Beds of wild flowers and vigorous plants covers the whole plot.
Rental Details
The prices are for one week accomodation for 2 persons in a studio with private kitchen and bath, towels and bedding. Full use of the finca's facilities and a welcome package.
When ordering a deposit of 20% of the whole amount is to be paid, the balance is paid 7 days before arrival.

The apartments are clean upon arrival and there are a few utensils if you want to clean up during your stay. We charge an extra fee for the end cleaning at departure of euro 35,- each apartment.
We provide you with bedlinen, towels and duvets for summer and winter. The bedlinen gets changed at arrival and once a week if the stay is more than one week. Towels are being changed twice a week. We would only ask you to bring your own towel for the beach.
