Casa Benessere, a restored Italian farmhouse, is set in the magical, untouched Le Marche region which neighbours Umbria, Abruzza and Tuscany. The property, the landscape and the peaceful, inspiring spirit of this area are why we chose the name Benessere, which means well being.

Casa Benessere is made up of three buildings. There’s the main farm house with five bedrooms, the old barn with two bedrooms and an impressive studio for yoga & pilates and, on the hill-top overlooking the property, the privata casa. All eight bedrooms are en suite doubles, there is a large swimming pool and a host of contemporary comforts including a large extensively equipped kitchen with a big granite worktop as its focal point. The renovation has been carried out by Italian specialists in historic rural dwellings so we could keep the property’s true, timeless nature. We have also, where possible, selected original and reclaimed materials along with traditional pieces crafted by local artisans.

The Marche/Abruzzo Region

The main appeal of the Marche region of Italy lies, for many people, in its enchanting landscape; others would say that its most distinguishing feature is its wealth of beautiful historic towns and cities. The two opinions do not contradict one another: part of what makes these towns so interesting and so beautiful is their setting amongst boundless rolling hills sloping gently down to the sea.

The region is blessed with great natural beauty: the golden translucent world of the Frasassi caves, the Sibillini mountains, the Conero, the beaches of Gabiche, Senigallia, Sirolo and San Benedetto del Tronto. It is no less rich in history for this is the land of condottieri, of popes and of artists, famed for the "ideal city" of Urbino, the fortified towns of San Leo and Gradara, Rossini's Pesaro, the Sphaeristerium in Macerata, the historic squares in Ascoli Piceno and Fermo and for the craft work done in Fabriano.

Climate wise, Summers in Marche are hot and dry, after a few light showers in May there is usually very little rain until late September. Temperatures average between 20-30 degrees but can top 40 degrees. Autumn is especially beautiful with warm sunny days. The woods colour up well with bright yellow's orange, red and russet brown. The first snow falls on the highest peaks of the Sibillini Mountains between the middle of October and the end of that month. Snow can fall at any time in the winter although the high winter sun provides warmth even if the air temperature can get quite cold. Spring weather is quite unpredictable especially April with days of warm sunshine often with temperatures in the 20's.

Cingoli Area

Set between the sea and soaring mountains, Casa Benessere is the perfect base from which to explore the riches of Le Marche. Untouched by mass tourism, Le Marche remains an undiscovered jewel. The hill-top city of Cingoli founded in the 3rd century BC, known as the 'Balcony of the Marches' is just 20 minutes’ drive away and has panoramic views over the hills to the sea. Closer to home (15 minutes’ drive), you’ll find San Severino, known as the 'City of Art'. Like Cingoli, it has museums, galleries, churches and monasteries while there are lots of dining choices, bars and shops. Further afield, you’ll discover Urbino, the Renaissance town and birthplace of Raphael (1hr 40min). Then there’s Macerata (40min), celebrated for its annual outdoor opera festival. Throughout summer, open air festivals, palios and pageants take place across all of Le Marche. The region is also home to many natural wonders; the Frassasi Caves, the longest cave network in Italy (45min) and the Sibillini National Park (50min).
