This luxury skiing apartment is located in the centre of the picture postcard village of Maria Alm, Austria which is part of the big and undiscovered Hochkonig Region, with 150kms of groomed slopes and also forms part of the huge Ski Amade Region (25 resorts all under one lift pass). With an impeccable snow record and some of the best skiing in Austria visitors return year after year. The 'Daily Mail Ski and Snowboard Magazine' recently gave this area excellent reviews and referred to it as 'Austria's best kept secret'. Resorts Zell am Zee, Saalbach Hinterglem, Leogang within 15/20 minute drive, making this a perfect choice for a self-catering holiday in Austria.
The apartment has been furnished to a high standard with a modern high specification open plan kitchen which leads onto the large lounge area which has a large flat screen TV with Cable and DVD player (selection of films). There is a large terrace with furniture which has stunning views of the Arberg/Natrun Mountain and village. The apartment is in an L shape so is perfect for two small families or one large extended to share. From every window their are breathtaking views of the Hochkonig mountain range, and only minutes away from the Apres Ski/restaurants.

The apartment is based on the 1st floor, the building benefits from a lift and underfloor heating. There is a private car parking space, basement to keep Ski's and bikes and also a small play area for children outside the block. The Austrian Alps - Salzburgerland Region
Winter/Ski -The Hochkonig region has an enviable snow record which often means the lifts can open in the Hochkonig region early December through to April. The Hochkonig region forms part of the Ski Amade Region which means that you can access 865kms of slopes all under one lift pass and if this still isn't enough then the resorts of Zell am See and Saalbach Hinterglem/Leogang are a short drive away (15/20 minutes). Maria Alm offers horse drawn sleigh rides, toboganning, floodlit skiing, cross country skiing, numerous restaurants and a nightclub (winter only). In addition to the excellent review that the Daily Mail Ski and Snowboard magazine gave this area also won a prestigious 4* rating from the 'Where to ski and snowboard magazine' for queues/and intermediate skiing, rating much higher that the more famous resorts. Summer - this area is absolutely beautiful in summer like a fairyland with huge outdoor lido, mountain biking, lakes, climbing and Golf Course on 1/2 mile away, being only 2 hours from Italy enjoying hot summers up to 30 degrees. There is a real 'cafe culture' in village square with live music weekly. Flights to Salzburg are generally very reasonable in summer. Only 1/2 mile away is 'Urslautal Golf Course' winner of the '2005 Hertz undiscovered Golf Course of the Year award' set amongst stunning scenery the championship 18 hole golf course comes highly recommended visit www.golf-urslautal.com for further information. The places to visit locally are endless and include the famous National Tauern Park, Krimml waterfalls and of Course Salzburg. Lake Zell am See is about 15/20 minute drive away and really worth a visit both in winter and summer, in summer it is a bit like a beach with water sports and picnic areas boats, etc. Throughout the year Austria is famous for it's festivals and Maria Alm is famous for its village celebrations particularly in August and September when there are music festivals and Harvest celebrations. refer to www.hochkonig.at for information on all aspects above and ski maps etc.

Car not necessary as there are excellent bus links for ski areas and in summer tourist destinations. Our apartment is situated in the center of the ski resort of Maria Alm. There is a private car parking space should you require it.

There is a small playground consisting of a swing, slide, sandpit etc. 'Maria Alm' is a children's paradise, there is a programme of activities run throughout the summer months for children of all ages. July 2008 - The nicest apartment that we have ever rented, 2nd time in Maria Alm but 1st in Summer we regret now that we have already booked our winter accommodation for February as we now feel very spoilt having spent a week at your beautiful place. February 2009 - Words and pictures do not do this place justice. Spacious clean apartment with stunning views. Perfect location central to everything.
