The Languedoc-Roussillon Region

The Languedoc Roussillon Region of France is an undiscovered gem filled with breathtaking scenery, some of France's best cuisine, rich Medieval history and amazing architecture.

Roquebrun Area

Roquebrun is one of the most popular beauty spots in the Languedoc region. The property is located in the first row of the houses which overlook the fabulous River orb.

A cafe and a wine outlet are located just a couple of minutes from the house.
There are two restaurants in the town "Le Petit Nice" were you can enjoy traditional food and local wines, whilst relaxing on their terrace taking in the views of the River Orb.
The other restaurant L'auberge St Hubert is also recommended for noveau cuisine.
The town also boasts a great pizzeria, wine co-op, tourist office and post office. The market town of St. Chinian is 10 min away with a large supermarket,bank, cafes and an excellent twice weekly market selling local produce and crafts.
The town of Beziers is a 25 minute drive away.

Walking, hiking, fishing, cycling cayaking, horse riding and of course wine tasting are on the doorstep.
It is possible to hire a kayak or canoe and embark on a trip along the river to take in the views, makes a great day out for all the family!
Tennis and Golf are located nearby. tennis courts in the village. 18 hole courses in St Thomas near Beziers and the other in other in Lamalou-les-Bains.
The beauty of the area will inspire artists/budding artists.

There famous spa town of Lamalou-Les-Bains is 15km away 15 pure water sources are at the disposal of guests for their health and well-being. Rehabilitation and fitness activities are an essential part of this well-know, 17th century spa town.

FESTIVALS / EVENTS IN ROQUEBRUN:
- Art and craft events at the flour mill.
- Market (Tuesday and Friday).
- Mimosa festival in February (regional produce fair, procession of flowered floats, etc.).
- Bull-running festival 3rd week in July
-Wine festivals are held regularly.

Other festivals/ events: Beziers hosts the Festa d'Oc is a celebration of local music & dance and is in late July and the famous Feria de Béziers, centred around bullfighting, every August.

Beaches: Valras-plage is 40km by car and has restaurants,shops and a fun park. Serignan plage is located near to Valras plage and is a lot quieter just miles and miles of beach.

1.Dublin/Shannon/Cork- Carcassonne approx 1 hour 10 min transfer to house by car.
2.London Stansted/ Lon Luton / Bristol (RyanAir) to Beziers 35mins transfer to house by car. A Taxi fare should be no more than €65
3.Stansted/ /East Midlands/Liverpool/Brussels(RyanAir) to Carcasonne approx 55 mins transfer to house by car
4. Stansted / (RyanAir) to Montpellier approx55mins transfer to house by car
5 Stansted/ Birmingham (RyanAir) to Perpignan approx 90minsmins transfer to house by car.
6. Dublin/london (Aerlingus) to Toulouse approx 2 hrs transfer to house by car.
Each airport is also serviced with a bus(€5) that will bring you to that airports city train station where you can catch the train(€12) to the city of Beziers where there is a Bus(€5) out to the village of Roquebrun.
