Annagry Area

Ideal for a quiet relaxing holiday in the heart of the Donegal Gaeltacht, where you can enjoy the outstanding scenery. Nearby amenities include Dunlewey lakeside centre, Mount Errigal, Glenveigh National Park. Annagary Village, 1.2miles, has a number of friendly Bars as well as the award winning Danny Minnie’s Restaurant. Carrickfinn’s Blue Flag Beach, 4½ miles, is ideal for swimming. There is a choice of 4 golf courses within easy reach. Check out the offshore inhabited islands of Aran Mór and Tory popular with bird watchers. Nearby is Leo’s Tavern the home of Enya and Clannad and the well-known Daniel O’Donnell. Horse riding, trekking, game and deep-sea fishing are popular in the area.

"The area was one of the most scenic areas in Ireland. We took in the scenery, took the ferry to Aaranmore Island, visited local places of interest and did some sea fishing. Would recommend Glenveagh National Park. Sharkey's Bar in Annagry is a good place to eat out, as is Leo's Tavern in Crolly."

"The cottage was set in a very remote location. This is great as it is what we wanted and the beach at the end of the road was always deserted, which was great, but you definitely need a car or motorbike to visit places. We drove quite a lot, but the roads are clear so it was quite pleasant. The beach at the end of the road was wonderful and deserted. Would recommend Glenveagh National Park, Dunfanaghy Famine Exhibition. We didn't do much 'touristy' stuff, but owners leave a manual with suggested places to visit and local services etc. which was great! We dined in mostly due to the wonderful accommodation, but went to Leo's Tavern for an early dinner one day. Food was nice - portions were HUGE! Very good value, basic pub grub!"

"Fantastic cottage in a great location, really friendly and helpful neighbours, made us feel at home. The real highlight: Tory Island where I was kissed by the King but where else would you see a wild dolphin, Duggie, playing with Ben the dog in the harbour - Priceless. The game only ended when Duggie followed our boat out to sea."
