The Languedoc-Roussillon/ Pyrenees-Orientales Region

The Conflent region benefits from being one of the warmest mountain areas in France being the most southerly/Eastern point, set between the warm waters of the Mediterranean Sea and the towering peaks of the Pyrenees. The Conflent Valley has breathtaking views and spectacular geological features……..

FUILLA is considered to be one of the most attractive and quaint villages in the region, its position is quite unique, being secluded yet easily accessible. It’s only 4 km from the main RN-Road and the Famous historical 11th century fortified town of Villefranche-de-Conflent. (Which has recently been nominated as a UNESCO world heritage site.)

Fuilla is situated midway between the Mediterranean Ocean and the Pyrenees mountains in the Conflent Valley, Fuilla has the most delightful view of Mount Canigou and the most perfect starting point for hiking, cycling,& horse riding and many more activities on the door step.. just a short drive away is skiing in the winter months. . You can hike or ski in the morning & spend the afternoon relaxing in the thermal spas at Vernet Les Bains which is less than a 10 mins drive away or you can even drive to the coast and chill out on the beach. There is a restaurant/bar in the village where you will be made to feel very welcome and you can experience the local Catalan cuisine.

 

Villefranche de Conflent Area

Here's Just a few local sites of interest within easy driving (or walking) distance.

* The location is an endless wilderness for Ramblers and mountain climbers, many maps are available in local shops to plan that perfect route...

* Prades (10 min drive) is the capital of the Conflent and is the nearest main town. Here you will find plenty of shops, restaurants and a thriving market on Tuesdays & Saturdays mornings

* Rock pools at Sahorre (3km) is well worth a trip on a hot summers day. Take a dip in the fresh mountain
water.

* Villefranche-de-conflent (4km) is a real attraction for tourists. In this 11th century fortified town, the day will pass away in no time, having plenty to explore with a wide choice of quaint shops and a variety of restaurants and bars. You can also visit the Fort upon the mountain, travel up by 4x4 and walk back via the underground tunnel which leads you back into the walled town.

* Little yellow Train (4km… Petit Train Jaune) The train travels from Villefranche-de-conflent, here you can enjoy the spectacular scenery whilst climbing through the hills, passing through tunnels & crossing bridges, after a 63km climb you reach Bolquere (the highest railway station in France) Well worth the day out.

* Grottes de Canalettes,(4km) magnificent renowned caves with an incredible light and sound show .

* St Martin du Canigou, (6km) ..9th century abbey perched impressively high on thehillside with fantastic scenery and walks.

* Vernet Les Baines (7.5 km) Spa Town with an outdoor swimming pool and a casino for those who dare!!!

* Casteill animal park , great for the kids. (9km)

* St Michel de Cuxa, 6th century abbey that hosts concerts during the Pablo Casals festival but is also open for viewing most of the year. (10 km)

* St Thomas les Bains, outstanding natural thermal hot springs in wonderful outdoor mountain setting. (15 km)

 

Getting There

Fly to Perpignan via the low-cost airlines - Ryan air, Flybe, BMIbaby or Air France - Fuilla is just 45 minutes from the airport.

Alternatively fly to (in order of closeness) Girona 1.5hrs(Spain), Carcassonne, Montpellier, Nimes, Barcelona 3hrs or Toulouse using airlines Ryanair, Easyjet, FlyBe, British Airways or Air France.

All major car rental agencies have a desk at all the airports.

From Perpignan (approx 45 mins) follow the directions for Andorre RN 116 and continue to Villafranche-de-Conflent, at the roundabout continue following signs for Andorre after about 800 m turn left onto D6 signposted Fuilla and Sahorre From this point the villa is 3.5km, .....on acceptance of your booking you will be given a detailed map to the villa....

If coming from the direction of Andorre or Bourg Madam follow the signs for Perpignan. After the village SERDINYA you cross railway lines and a bridge here turn right on to D6 Sahorre / Fuilla. on acceptance of your booking you will be given a detailed map to the villa....

There is a low cost bus service from Perpignan airport to the city rail station and from there Villefranche is a 35 minute train ride away. Villefranche-de-Conflent to Fuilla is a short taxi ride (approx 10 Euros). Only 4km drive.

* The private garden,surrounded by panorama views is mostly laid to lawn & bordered with shrubs & fruit trees.

* The pool (9 x 4 metres) is situated to the front of the property is used from Mid June to Mid September,.during the summer period the pool is maintained weekly. The pool is provided with a saftey cover which you remove for use and replace after use each time. IT IS A SAFTEY COVER FOR A REASON!!!

* Parking for up to 3 cars

 

Rental Details

All amenities are included in the rental charges ... Electric & Water

Linen & bath towels are provided. (changed on a weekly basis)
The Villa is large enough to accommodate up to 8 people all in bedrooms, with a possible 9th using a single sofa bed and lends itself to two families sharing

Visitors arrival time is normally anytime after 16.00pm. On day of departure the villa must be vacated by 10.00am (should no other guest be arriving on your departure day you may stay later.)

Bookings must be confirmed by payment of a 25% non refundable deposit. The balance must be paid 6 weeks prior to arrival. Late bookings require full payment.

A fully refundable Damage/Abuse waiver of 200€ or £200 is also required on your final payment, this is fully refunded with in 2 weeks of your return should there be no damage or abuse to the property.


Payment can only be accepted by bank transfer, only Euro are accepted

Pool towels are provided. (these are not changed during your stay)

Logs are available for the winter months at an additional fee please enquire.

Non-Saturday arrivals considered please enquire.(usually out of peak season)

We had a truly fantastic holiday. Casa Nostra is a delightful house and extremely well equipped. It was great to relax by the pool surrounded by awesome mountain views. We enjoyed the local villages of Villefranche, Vernet Les Bains and Sahorre, and travelling further afield to Collioure and Carcassone - plus the heady delights of the little Yellow Train as far as Mount Louis. Casa Nostra is an ideal holiday base, and we are already planning when we can go back again - we know there is so much more to explore in the area.

We had a great stay at the Casa Nostra ! The fully equipped house is lovely, stays cool even with warm weather
The kids (and us as well) enjoyed the swimming pool a lot, as well as the garden.The environment and the views are magnificent and the location is perfectly situated for really nice canyons.We will certainly recommend Casa Nostra to our friends.

We had a great holiday in Casa Nostra, your house is very complete, it felt like home!
The kids loved the Playstation and games and DVDs.The pool was fantastic, the views breathtaking,there was nothing more to be desired!

Just a quick note to thank you for the fantastic time we had at Casa Nostra.
The views from the lounge/dining room were amazing and it was a really comfortable place to relax with a glass of wine in the evening.The kitchen had everything you could ever need and it made preparing and eating a meal together a real joy.We also made good use of the pool and garden which had plenty of space either in or out of the sun.

We had a fantastic family holiday. Casa Nostra was a lovely house, very well equipped and in a delightful location. It was great to stay in a quiet village and have mountain views all around. There was so much to do, within a very short distance from the house. We would recommend a drive to the rock pools at Sahore, a drive up to Mantet (where we were amazed to see griffon vutures, short toed eagles and chamois) and a visit to the caves and the fortified city of Villefranche. There was also time to relax and enjoy the garden and pool, which was such a treat. It certainly made it an ideal holiday spot, catering for our whole family,even our teenage children are keen to go back again! Thankyou.

We wanted to drop you a line to say how we fully enjoyed our stay at Casa Nostra. We found the whole holiday so relaxing and can’t wait to return, The location is truly a tranquil setting and yet no distance to anywhere including the coast, it was perfect, even down to the directions to the house which made the journey so easy.
The facilities in the house were exceptional, we found everything you could wish for and more. The pool was appreciated even in June... We had the most wonderful holiday staying in Casa Nostra and we highly recommend a holiday here to anyone and we look forward to returning soon.
