Fionn Tra Cottage is in a very peaceful area, but it is close to lots of amenities. It is close to Fermoyle Beach,which runs unbroken for 6 miles east to the Maharees (beyond Castlegregory). The lively town of Dingle is only 12 km away. There is surfing, kitesurfing & windsurfing at nearby Castlegregory. There is also sea-angling at the nearby beach, which is less than 0.25 km from the house. River fishing is available at the nearby Owenmore River, which is full of salmon, grilse & trout. The house has a shed for drying surfing/fishing gear. If you like walking, there are dedicated walking trails and beaches to walk. There is also hill-walking at Conor Pass, Beenoskee and mountaineering at nearby Mount Brandon, Ireland's second highest peak. There is also golfing, horseriding & birdwatching nearby.
Fionn Tra Cottage is within walking distance (2km) of the village of Cloghane, where there is a convenience store, a church and pubs with traditional music. The house itself is very comfortable with all the modern conveniences including power-showers, in-house vacuum system and electronic gates, making it very secure. The living areas are spacious and luxurious. The garden has ambient lighting, a lawn, rockeries, a patio area for BBQs etc, and plenty of parking. Pets are allowed, but owner must be told at time of booking. NO CAMPING ALLOWED IN THE GARDEN

The Kerry Region
Thanks to the Gulf Stream in the Atlantic ocean, climate is quite mild in Co. Kerry. There are lots of historical places to visit. The visitor centre in Blennerville, which is between Castlegregory and Tralee. There is also an Interpretative Centre in Dunquin on the Dingle Peninsula. Closeby is Fermoyle House, formerly part of Lord Ventry's Estate. Crutches Hotel, which also formed part of Lord Ventry's Estate is a 2km walk from Fionn Tra Cottage. At Slea Head there are bee-hive huts, once inhabited by monks 1,000 years ago. There are also boat trips to the Blasket Islands, home of the famous writer Peg Sayers. The fishing town of Dingle has a large aquarium and some excellent restaurants. The is a famous golf links a Ceann Sibeal, which is a 20 minute drive from Fionn Tra Cottage. There is also a 9-hole golf course at Castlegregory.

Getting There
Fly into Shannon International Airport, Cork International Airport or Kerry Airport at Farranfore. From there hire a car and drive to Tralee and then to Cloghane-Brandon via the Tralee-Dingle Road.

The kitchen is well-equipped with granite worktops, breakfast bar, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, hob, oven, coffee maker, toaster, blender etc. The kitchen units are made of oak and the worktop is made of granite. The dining area boasts a solid oak dining table and chairs. The living room beneifts from an open fire, a plasma screen TV, DVD, stereo & satellite TV. The downstairs study is furnished with a desk and chair. The main bathroom has a separate bath and shower. Every bathroom has a power-shower and a heated towel rail. The master bedroom downstairs has a walk-in wardrobe and an en-suite bathroom. There is a second double bedroom on the ground floor. Upstairs there is a double bedroom with sea views and en-suite. There are two more bedrooms - one is a double bedroom with an adjoining twin room, suitable for children.
