It is located on a natural protected site and is opposite the Iles d’Or (Porquerolles, Port-Cros, Le Levant), ideal for boat excursions.

The Cote dAzur/Provence Region

The Cote d'Azur is situated on the Mediterranean coast and enjoys a lovely climate of hot summers and mild winters. It is famous for its fantastic beaches and selection of watersports.

- The Hyères Islands, also called the Iles d’Or (golden isles), a true botanical nature reserve consisting of of 3 islands (ideal for boat outings):
- Ile de Porquerolles : the largest island (7 km long and 3 km wide).
- Port Cros Island : listed as a national park.
- Levant Island: with its 8 km-long rocky ridge surrounded by inaccessible cliffs.
On the peninsula : Giens, a small, charming Provencal village; the Niel and Madrague harbours; Darboussière beach (walks along the coastal path lined with cliffs and beaches); the salt trade eco-museum at the "Salins des Presquiers" (2 km circuit).
The “Corniche des Maures” (picturesque tourist route stretching from Le Lavandou to La Croix Valmer).

Hyeres Area

Hyères is the most southerly city of Provence ( and one of the sunniest), is on the same latitude as Cap Corse and Florence, Italy. The city and its peninsula have 39km of pristine sand beaches and rocky inlets to offer.

Water sports : Mistral Centre (800 m): windsurfing and sports catamaran courses (on the Giens Peninsula and Porquerolles Island). Open during French school holidays

By air:

Fly straight to Toulon/Hyeres from Stansted with Ryanair.com. Alternatively fly to Nice or Marseille with easyjet, bmibaby, Thomsonfly or BA.

By train:

Toulon is a TGV station, and is only 20km away
