Although just 5 minutes walk to the main square in Malestroit, Le Chat Noir is set in a quiet tree lined avenue. There is plenty of room to park outside but a car is not needed to enjoy the local retaurants and bars as they are just a short walk away. Malestroit is a beautiful little town with good shopping, walks along the Nantes/Brest canal and
the 'Green Way', an old railway line, and it is a convenient location to enjoy the Gulf of Morbihan area. Roads to the coast are excellent and not very busy even at the height of the summer. The surrounding countryside is a
mixture of rolling hills and woodland and there are some lovely little villages to visit such as Rochfort en Terre and La Vraie Croix where the residents turn their village into a veritable flower show with window boxes and other displays in the summer months.

Guest Book
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Le Chat Noir in Malestroit. The house is spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The bright, colourful sun lounge, overlooking the garden and open to the kitchen, was a favourite spot for breakfast and lazy afternoons. With a large, comfortable lounge and bright dining room, the house offers space and flexibility. Malestroit is a lovely small town, and the canal provides a great focal point. Access to surrounding towns, villages and the coast is excellent."
"The moment we walked in to Le Chat Noir it felt like we were at home. Nothing flash or pretentious, but everything as it should be. Malestroit is an absolute delight, as are many surrounding towns, villages etc. Our two weeks went in a flash, but within moments of arriving back home, we decided to book up for the following year. The second year was even better and we now regard Le Chat Noir as our second home. Ticks all the boxes. Looking forward to our return."
"After a frantic year at work and home, Le Chat Noir provided just the homely and relaxing short holiday we were looking for. The house is well-described on the web and we found it a homely, comfortable and relaxing place to stay. It is in an ideal location for visiting attractions in this part of Brittany and its proximity to the town made it ideal for local shopping forays for croissants, cheese, pate and the many other gastronomic delights of France."
