Maison Gély is centrally located in Causses et Veyran a traditional french village in the heart of the St Chinian wine region. The house was formerly a wine makers dwelling and has been lovingly restored with many antique pieces of furniture, chandeliers and paintings providing a spacious 4 bedroom haven from which to explore the region. Maison Gély spans three floors and comprises 2 Double rooms, 2 twin rooms, 4 Bathrooms, modern kitchen/dining room, comfortable living room, family room and utility room.
Inside the house, to the right of the large entrance hall is a comfortable living room with hifi system,sofa, easy chairs, bookcase, fireplace with custom made sculpted surround. The original wooden beams have been retained in keeping with the style of the house.
To the left of the hallway is the dining area and modern fitted kitchen. The dining area is furnished with a traditional large wooden table and chairs and a single french door leads from the dining area to the back of the house and the pool area.
The kitchen is well equipped with double sink, electric ceramic hob and oven, American fridge/freezer, dishwasher, coffee maker, electric kettle, microwave oven.
Back in the hallway a door leads to a "wet room" with WC, basin and shower. The grand stone staircase leads to the first floor where you will find three bedrooms.
The spacious master bedroom is furnished with an elaborately carved antique double bed and armoire and has it's own en-suite bathroom. The adjacent bathroom is fitted with a with spa-bath, separate hydro-massage shower cabin, WC and basin.
Bedroom two is furnished with two single antique sleigh beds, a wardrobe and night tables. French doors overlook the former market square at the front of the house.
Bedroom three is opposite bedroom two and furnished with an upholstered double bed, an elegant wardrobe and marble topped bedside tables. This room also overlooks the square at the front of the house
The family bathroom on this floor is shared by the guests staying in bedroom two and three. It is fitted with roll-top bath and a wide hydro-massage shower cabin, WC and wash basin.
The pool area is reached by steps at the back of the house, and is secured by a locking gate. The swimming pool (7 x 4mt) has an electrically operated security cover, as well as steel steps. A terrace wraps around the pool and is furnished with a wooden dining table and chairs, sun umbrellas and sun loungers. The pool kitchen is fully equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, gas cooker and gas BBQ. A WC and sun shower allow you to make the most of outdoor living
Just outside the front door is a patio area.
On the lower ground floor of the house you'll find the family room - a very large room in what used to be the wine cellar of the house. This room is furnished with a large sofa easy chairs, poufs, as well as a wide screen TV, DVD player, Sky (free to air) receiver. At the back of this room is bedroom four, which is furnished with two single beds, a wardrobe and bedside tables. This bedroom has an en-suite shower room, which is fitted with a wide hydro-massage shower cabin, WC and wash basin. Also at the back of the family room is the utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.

The Languedoc-Roussillon Region
The Languedoc-Roussillon Region is a gem filled with breathtaking scenery, some of France's best wines and is rich in culture and history. The region also benefits from a micro climate making it an ideal year long holiday destination.
The region has much to offer the discerning holiday maker from wine tasting to canoeing or simply relaxing in the sunshine and taking in the surrounding natural beauty.
Roquebrun Area
Causses et Veyran is a traditional french village in the heart of the St Chinian wine region. It is the ideal place from which to explore this region combining ambiance of village life with easy access by car to surrounding areas.
The bread shop opens 8-10am daily. A Vegetable seller and butcher come to the village on Thursday mornings and smoked meet, fine cheese specialist on Tuesdays. A pizza van also sets up on Friday evenings. A winery is literally three doors away selling wines from a reputable local vineyard. The is a free tennis court about a 5 minute walk from the house and the village is on the edge of the National Park of the Haut Languedoc. Causses-et-Veyran dates back to pre-historic times. Towers from the Roman period can be found in the middle of a vineyard, remains of an 11th century priory, and the parish church dating from the 10th and 11th century are all well worth a visit. The vineyards around the village are part of the AOC Saint-Chinian wine area.
A five minute drive away is the charming village of Cessonon sur Orb with a wider varierty of shops and a weekly farmers' market. The nearest supermarket is 10 minutes drive to Murveil les Beziers. Roquebrun is also a short drive with a Mediterranean garden, wonderful views, waterfall, canoeing and river swimming.
Reals near Roquebrun rent canoes and Kayaks and leisurely trips along the River Orb make a fantastic day out for all the family.
Traditional french restaurants can be found in Murviel les Béziers, Cessenon sur Orb and Roquebrun. Spa enthuasists will find the famed spa town of Lamalou-Les-Bains 35km away.
Markets: On Friday's markets take place in Roquebrun and Murveil. Bezier also has a well known flower and fresh fruit & vegetable market in the town square on Fridays. Nearby Cessonon sur Orb has a market on a Saturday morning and St Chinian hosts a very good market on Sunday mornings. Markets are a great way to sample local produce and also a real social occasion for all the family.
Béziers is 20km away and hosts the Festa d'Oc is a celebration of local music & dance and is in late July and the famous Feria de Béziers, centred around bullfighting, every August.
