The complex is spread out in two arcs around the two large outdoor swimming pools (plus a kids pool and a waterslide pool) all surrounded by beautiful flower gardens.
There is a poolside bistro (Café Bleu) offering free WiFi internet access if you buy a drink, also you can have delicious meals there.
Within the residence is a fitness room, a games room, a luggage/storage room, phone boxes, sauna and massage facilities (high season only).
Closeby you have watersports including parascending, windsurfing, sailing, parasurfing and jetski hire. About 1km away there is a large Cannes Sport municipal tennis complex featuring 5 clay courts and 12 synthetic courts. Further west towards Mandelieu (about 3 km) there is the Old Course, a golf course dating back to 1891 and featuring an 18 hole course, a 9 hole course and driving range.
Locally there are great restaurants, cafés and lots of small markets and supermarkets all within a short walk.
Cannes central is about 20 minutes walk along the seafront or there are 3 bus routes that will run you into the heart of Cannes in just a few minutes costing one euro. You can wander around the old castle in Cannes central or visit the islands by taking one of the local ferries.

In addition, the Résidence Maeva Verrerie organizes an array of leisure and sporting activities, plus excursions and sightseeing tours around Cannes and the French Riviera, full details are available at the reception desk.
The picturesque town of Grasse is just a short train ride away (or you can use the 610 bus), where you can visit Fragonard Parfumeur or wander around one of the prettiest towns in France. Likewise there are the villages of Var, Villefranche, Eze and Beaulieu-Sur-Mer all of which are easily accessible by train from Cannes La Bocca or Les Bousquet stations nearby. Also you can visit Nice very easily from the apartment – for just €1 from Cannes by bus 200. If you do go for lunch there I would recommend the bistro café at Hotel Negresco on the Promenade des Anglais - it is excellent value and delicious.
Cannes Area
If you venture further you can get the train to Ventimiglia in Italy where they have a fabulous market day every Friday until around 4 or 5 pm. A return ticket by train is reasonably priced and the journey time is about 1½ hours. Also there is Monaco en route to Italy, if you have the energy!
In the alleyway opposite the entrance of the building you will find four very good restaurants; the French one (Cafe Luna) in particular is excellent. However there are many other local restaurants to enjoy. Local market day in Cannes La Bocca is Saturday (mornings only) although there is a general food market most days until around 2:00pm, excluding Sundays.
There are plenty of local supermarkets and shops and opposite the complex is a pharmacy. If you are looking for a very large supermarket you need to turn left at the top of Rue de la Verrerie and keep walking until you reach the roundabout and then you will see a Casino and an InterMarche on your right.
Getting There
Easyjet have regular flights from all UK airports to Nice. British Airways fly from Gatwick, Heathrow and London City to Nice. From Nice you can hire a car (A8 Exit 41) or take the express bus (210) to Cannes for €14. Alternatively you can take the stopping bus service (200) to Cannes from terminal 1 for €1. Once in Cannes take a 1,2 or 20 bus to Mairie Annexe and its a 50m walk to the apartment complex.
Alternatively if you don't want the hassle of public transport my housekeeper can pick you up from the airport for Euros 60 and take you straight to the door. It takes about 25 minutes. No problem with prams etc.

Rental Details
I will email a price for the period you require and there are no other extra charges after that. I would ask for a 20% deposit in case of cancellations and then I would need full payment transferred at least one month before your arrival date. You are welcome to make full payment immediately if that is easier. If you are going to book then I will give you my French bank account details where the transfers will need to be made and then l will send you a few more details like where the keys are, parking lot number, security codes for late night access etc.
Swimming pools are only open from April to October. The complex is shut at 10:00pm each night and entry thereafter is by keycode (provided with keys).
It is a legal requirement in France to have a formal agreement for holiday lettings and this document is for your protection, to ensure enjoyment of your time in La Bocca. Please do read through the agreement very carefully as payment of funds constitutes your acceptance of these terms and conditions.
The contract is made in England between Melanie Mosselmans (“The Owner”) of 23c Moreton Place. London SW1V 2NL and you (“The Hirer”). The hirer is the person making the booking, but not necessarily the person paying for the tenancy, nonetheless all persons concerned must be over the age of 18 years old. The property (“The property”) referred to is Apartment 508 Residence Maeva, 6 Rue de la Verriere, 06150 Cannes La Bocca, France. “The Agent” is anyone retained by The Owner to act on their behalf in the letting of the property.
Booking
The property is not booked and no contract shall be deemed to exist until the payment has been received and accepted in full by the owner.
Cancellation
The hirer MUST inform the owner or the agent within at least 14 days before the tenancy begins. Failure to do this will result in forfeiture of 25% (twenty five percent) of the payment made. Returned payments will be made in full, subject to a deduction of the transaction cost.
Insurance
The hirer is absolutely responsible for all insurances during the period of the tenancy. We very strongly recommend that you take out holiday insurance cover, including holiday cancellation, flight deferment and comprehensive personal insurance coverage.
Hire period
Unless otherwise stated the booking period is from 16:00 (4:00pm) on any Saturday for seven days until 12:00 (12:00pm). The apartment is only available with effect from that time due to cleaning.
Breakage and/or loss of equipment
The hirer undertakes to indemnify the owner for any breakage or loss of equipment and/or fittings that form a part of the apartment and the hirer agrees to report to the owner any damage to the property and any equipment that has been lost, stolen or broken on vacating the apartment.
Unsuitable hirers
The owner reserves the right to refuse to accept monies from any hirer who in the opinion of the owner or the agent is deemed as not suitable to take charge. In such case the owner or the agent will organise a full refund of any monies paid. The owner reserves the right to repossess the property from any hirer who, in the opinion of the owner or agent is not suitable to continue to reside.

Property description and illustration in the owner’s brochures and/or website are intended for general guidance only. Property furnishings may have minor variation but will always be of a sufficient standard and style to that shown.
Force Majeure
The owner can not accept responsibility or pay any compensation where the performance of the contract is prevented or affected by events or reason of circumstances beyond the owner’s control, amounting to ‘force majeure’. This includes any event we could not possibly foresee or avoid, such as (but not limited to) destruction of the property through fire, war, floods, explosions, storms, weather damage, criminal damage or any other cause beyond our control.

The apartment has one double bedroom with an orthopaedic mattress which is very good for anyone with a bad back, and the apartment can sleep a further three people in the living room. You can see more details on the website at www.cannesapartment.net/ You may decide it is too small for your needs.
The apartment is fully furnished with all linen plus towels for the bathroom and the beach. Also all necessary crockery and dish cloths are provided. There is a washer/dryer machine, a hair dryer, an oven and microwave, a rotisserie, a toaster, a fridge with a small freezer/icemaker compartment, heating and a small air conditioning unit. The apartment is equipped with beach chairs and two umbrellas, a picnic hamper and crockery for the beach.
