Trinity Haven (www.trinityhaven.ie) near Killykeen Forest Park is 15 minutes drive from Cavan Town, which is 60 minutes drive from Dublin on the new M3 Motorway (Tolls Apply) and 40 minutes drive from Enniskillen. The nearest convenience store, pub and restaurant is only 4 km away with a further selection and local taxi service available in Cavan town (6km).
This self catering Cavan Accommodation has all mod cons and consists of four spacious bedrooms that sleep 6-8 persons conveniently. It has two double and two twin bedrooms (one double room is downstairs) and three bathrooms (two of which are en-suite and all with electric/power showers). Facilities include fridge freezer, oven, hob, fan, micro-wave, dishwasher, TV with Irish / UK channels, DVD and CD Stereo. The utility room has a sink, washing machine and separate tumble dryer. There is oil-fired central heating thermostatically controlled throughout the holiday home to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. Beds are dressed with fresh bed linen for your arrival and Towels are supplied free of charge together with one cot and one high chair.

The Cavan Region
Cavan Town: There is a great selection of hotels in which to enjoy an evening or afternoon meal or simply a relaxing coffee or drink. These include the Radisson Farnham Hotel; the Cavan Crystal Hotel with its full selection of Cavan crystal for purchase; as well as the Kilmore Hotel and the Farnham Hotel. Slightly further afield is the Crover House Hotel towards Mount Nugent with its ideal setting along the shores of Lough Sheelin; and Lough Rynne Castle Hotel in Mohill, Co. Leitrim. There are excellent pubs and restaurants in Cavan town and also in the neighbouring villages of Crossdoney, Butlersbridge and Ballinagh.
The arts scene is vibrant in Cavan town with a variety of local music and cultural festivals throughout the year. Both the County Cavan Drama Festival and the NYAH Arts Festival take place annually during March/April. Many heritage events take place throughout the town during Heritage Week in Aug/Sept of every year. Traditional music sessions regularly take place in the town.
A new state of the art Library is located on Farnham Street. The library has an extensive reference section with information on the history and heritage of the county. The building also houses the Genealogy Centre and Tourist Information Office.
Places to See: Take a leisurely drive to Enniskillen (50km) and enjoy the beauty of Lower Lough Erne followed by a shopping spree or a well deserved treat in one of its many coffee houses or restaurants. Visit Marble Arch Caves & Florence Court Gardens both near Enniskillen, Arigna Mines Museum in Carrick-on-Shannon, the Cavan County Museum in Ballyjamesduff, or Dun a Rí Forest Park near Kingscourt.
Kilmore Cathedral, Cavan: is the home to the grave of bishop Bedell. It has a famous Romanesque doorway in the Cathedral that dates to the late twelfth, early 13th century, and is believed to have originally been part of the nearby priory at Trinity Island in Lough Oughter. Kilmore Cathedral is only 10 minutes away by car.
Marble Arch Caves are one of Europe's finest show caves allowing visitors to explore a fascinating, natural underworld of rivers, waterfalls, winding passages and lofty chambers. Located at Florencecourt, Co. Fermanagh, the Marble Arch cave complex has good car parking, a souvenir shop, restaurant, exhibition area and an audio-visual theatre. The caves are situated in a National Nature Reserve. Tours of the caves last approximately 75 minutes and are suitable for people of any age of average fitness. Comfortable walking shoes and a warm sweater are recommended. Tours of the cave complex start with an underground boat trip, after which your trained guide will conduct you through a variety of cave formations, including the "Moses walk", which must be seen and experienced to be fully enjoyed.
Situated amongst the mountains and forests of West Fermanagh, Florence Court is surrounded by a large area of parkland, garden and woodland including the recently restored walled garden where the pink and white roses are especially attractive in early summer. The present house, the former home of the Earls of Enniskillen, was started by John Cole and completed around 1775. It was named after Florence, his wife. The house contains fine Irish furniture including an 18th century rococo armchair in the library, an Irish writing cabinet which dates from 1730 and an unusual 18th century bed. The Grounds boast several interesting features such as the recently restored water-powered sawmill, an ice house and the summer house, which was rebuilt in 1993 as a replica of the original. There are outstanding views over surrounding mountains; Florence Court has a shop and tea-room.
Dun a Rí Forest Park is located 1.5km north of Kingscourt, Co. Cavan on the R179 to Carrickmacross. There are a number of different walking paths in Dun an Rí. There are four walks of approximately 1.5-2km in length all with points of interest. The forest of Dun an Rí is 229 hectares of which 146 hectares comprises of commercial forest. Norway spruce and oak are two important species in these commercial stands. There are various features identified by sign posts in the course of the several planned walks These include the wishing well, (a Holy Well called Tobar na Splinne), Cromwell's Bridge, Cabra Cottage - originally the residence of the Pratt family before they moved to the nearby Cabra Castle - the flax mill, the Lady's Lake and an old ice house. The ruins of Fleming's Castle can still be seen as well as Sarah's Well. Sarah's Bridge, built in 1801, is the starting point of many of the walks in the park. Car parking is also available.
Lough Rynne Hotel and Gardens, Mohill, Co. Leitrim is one of Irelands most luxurious Castle Hotels, this secluded Castle is majestically set on the shore of Lough Rynn, Mohill, Co. Leitrim, and is surrounded by over three hundred acres of breathtaking scenery, lush green pastures, ancient forests and historical points of interest. The Hotel Restaurant is open daily for lunch from 12 noon until 2.30pm and for dinner from 7pm until 9.30pm. The development comprises a luxury 52 bed-roomed Hotel, together with a World Class Spa and Leisure facilities and a Championship Golf Course designed by Nick Faldo .
Arigna Mining Experience near Drumshambo, Co. Leitrim provides visitors with a unique insight into what coal mining life was like in the Arigna Valley, since it’s beginning in the 1700's until closure in 1990. During the underground tour, visitors will experience what it was like to work in some of the narrowest coal seams in the western world. The tour that will last 45 minutes brings visitors to the mines coalface where the methods used to extract the coal are demonstrated. Lighting and sound effects throughout the mine, add to the reality to the experience. Local geology and the formation of coal deposits are explained in the exhibition area, as is the history of energy production. The exhibition also explains the concepts and operation of different renewable energy systems. Some of these systems can then be viewed in operation in the Energy Centre Building, in the energy playground, and on the nearby wind farms. A history tour presents the origins and history of the Arigna coal mines.
For a taste of Cavan culture why not take in a show in Virginia’s Bull Lane Theatre - a beautifully restored church, hosting performances by established theatre groups - 45 minutes drive away.

Cavan has a magnificient selection of courses, for example: the new Radisson Golf Club which opened during 2008 is less than 10 minutes drive, Cavan Golf Club is less than 15 minutes drive and the Slieve Russell Golf and Country Club is only 30 minutes away. For those seeking the less professional challenge McSeain’s Pitch ‘n’ Putt (Tel: 049 433 7138) in Cornafaen is an 18-hole par 3 to par 4 course worthy of a visit and very reasonably priced. It is only 15 minutes drive to Cornafaen.
For Anglers:
With angling being the No 1 leisure activity in Cavan, there are many fish filled lakes within very easy access to Trinity Haven. Trinity Lake is only a 10 minute walk, Lough Oughter a 10 minute drive, and Lough Sheelin and Lough Gowna are less than a 20 minute drive. A natural environment means natural, wild fish, including bream, roach, perch, eel, hybrids and pike.

From Dublin take the new North West Motorway (Tolls apply) Route M3 bypassing Dunshaughlin, Navan, Kells, and ending near Virginia. From Virginia, continue on to Cavan Town. Cavan Town is now 60 minutes from Dublin with the new M3 Motorway. Alternatively, take the N3 route through Dunshaughlin, Navan, Kells, Virginia and on to Cavan.
From Belfast take the A1 Southbound for Lisburn and on to Lurgan. From Lurgan take the A3 to Armagh, on to Monaghan Town and continue along the N54 for Cavan Town.
From Rosslare take the N11 Northbound for Dublin travelling through Wexford and Enniscorthy, bypassing Gorey / Arklow and on to Dublin. From Dublin follow the signs for the M50 Northbound and connect with the new North West Motorway Route M3 bypassing Dunshaughlin, Navan, Kells, and ending near Virginia. From Virginia, continue on to Cavan Town. Cavan Town is now 60 minutes from Dublin with the new M3 Motorway (Tolls apply). Alternatively, take the N3 route through Dunshaughlin, Navan, Kells, Virginia and on to Cavan.
