La Brideraie is a calm, luxury retreat in a fascinating area of rural France Poitou.
The area is near the Loire valley and Berry, and is known for its historic chateaux, wine, thermal baths (great for skin desease)
monasteries, nature reserves. Even teenagers love it!!
Vicq sur Gartempe Area
In and around Vicq sur Gartempe one will find golf courses, village markets, hot air balloons trips, a spectacular birds of prey flying show, the valley of monkeys, the medieval town of Angle sur l'Anglin, castles and, of course, the Futuroscope.
In August, a music festival takes place in Vicq, mixing classical music and jazz with string quartets and Michel Portal. In September, "Les vacances de Mr Haydn" in La Roche Posay proposes a long week-end of classical music. La Roche Posay is also a spa town with a casino.
