The house has been beautifully renovated with care and retains the character of a country cottage. The house is approached via a long driveway offering spectacular views of the local countryside. The house in its private tranquil setting with high quality accommodation. The property is set on the Mullaghareirk Mountain Walking Trail.

The local Mullaghareirk Mountain Walking Trails which consist of 8 sign-posted walks, most of which are loop walks(walks which start and finish at the same point) will introduce the visitor to the many natural springs, bird life, wild life, bogs and historical sites. The length of the walks range from 4km to 24km over a variety of terrain from open farmland and forest paths to quiet country roads. Maps and extensive local information are available to guests.
This is the ideal base for golf, equestrian, angling and a wide range of activities, and touring Limerick, Cork, Clare, Kerry, Kilkenny and Tipperary.
Accommodation is available for up to 6 people. Three double bedroom and 1 en-suite. All bedrooms are on the ground floor including bathroom, living room & Kitchen/Dining Room and there is 1 Living room on the first floor.
Extra Charges Electricity and heating are extra and charged by meter reading. Wood/turf for stove are supplied free of charge. A €50 deposit is requested on arrival towards oil-fired central heating and electricity costs. The actual cost of electricity and heating is calculated at time of departure
Broadford Area
ACTIVITIES & PLACES OF INTEREST in and around Broadford Village- The name Broadford comes from the Irish ‘Beal an Atha’ meaning the mouth of the river ford. The village is located in West Limerick 4km from the County Cork border near the foothills of the Mullaghareirk Mountains.
An Radhairc is 2km from the village where you will find a choice of shop, pubs, takeaway restaurant, church, post office and sign posted walking trails and the Arboretum for native trees and shrubs..
Glenquin Castle. Gleann an Choim (Glen of the Shelter) 15 minutes drive near Ashford . One of the finest tower houses to survive from the 16th century ( generally open from May to September). This castle was a fortified dwelling, for the protection against raids and invaders, more correctly described as a Tower House.
We are 15km from Newcastle West County Limerick’s largest town, noted for its shopping and has the 15th century castle situated in the town centre. Adare, Ireland’s most picturesque village with its thatched cottages, restaurants, boutiques and abbeys is within easy reach. Restaurants, outdoor activities, including golf, fishing and equestrian activities are also to be enjoyed. Tiger Woods has played in Adare Manor Golf Resort on many occasions.
The towns and villages of county Limerick offer a warm welcome to visitors. Limerick City is stepped in history, why not visit St. John’s Castle or the internationally renowned Hunt Museum? West Limerick has many attractions including equestrian centres in Abbeyfeale and Adare, horse racing at the Limerick Racecourse, karting in Abbeyfeale and Kilcornan.
Foynes Flying Boat Museum commemorates the early days of transatlantic air travel and the discovery of Irish Coffee. Foynes also has the Local Sailing Club and Shannon Estuary Cruises. Call to the Irish Palatine Centre in Rathkeale which details the experiences of hundreds of families from the German Palantine who settled in Ireland in 1709.
