Casa Amendoeiras (Almonds) is situated close to the “Praça de Falesia” (Falesia Square) with a sprinkling of charming restaurants, bars, shops and a supermarket. Açoteias village is approximately a 10 minute walk away offering a wider choice of restaurants with local and international cuisine, notably several excellent fish and shellfish restaurants. If it is nightlife you are looking for then within 7kms is Albufeira with its two distinct parts, the Old Town and Praia ad Oura “Strip.” Vilamoura is a 10 mins drive away, and is home to no fewer than five magnificent golf courses, whilst the lovely, nine hole course at Sheraton Pine Cliffs is only 1 km from Falesia Park. It’s just a 10 minute walk downhill to one of the Algarve’s finest beaches, Falésia, backed by low sandstone cliffs and pine woods. One can walk the beach to Vilamoura and the cliff top walk provides breathtaking views of the beach and surrounding countryside.
Casa Amendoeiras consists of 16 duplex townhouses set amidst landscaped gardens, all overlooking a large swimming pool set in the gardens. The gardens and pool area are enclosed with a perimeter hedge and gated. In our modern, 2 bedroom apartment, a spacious, sun-filled lounge has a TV and opens onto a large gated terrace with a built in barbecue overlooking the lovely grounds and swimming pool. A fully fitted kitchen is located to the front of the Townhouse with a small balcony access. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, both with double beds and sofa beds perfect for couples with children. There is a family bathroom shared by both bedrooms as well as a shower bathroom located on the ground floor. Both bedrooms have balcony access, one overlooking the pool and the other overlooking the gardens as well as view of the countryside. All rooms have air conditioning/heating.
This has proven to be a very popular apartment for families who enjoy the privacy of a residential property but still within walking distance of the beach and all amenities!

The Algarve Region
Portugal’s southernmost region known as the Algarve has established itself as a firm favourite holiday destination for people from all over Europe as well as the rest of the world. This is due mainly to its almost tropical climate boasting over 3000 hours of annual sunshine. With its stunning long sandy beaches, majestic cliff facings, secret coves and caves contrasting with the inland of mountains, almond blossom covered hills and quaint hidden towns the Algarve has something to offer for everyone.
There are many major attractions for all the family to enjoy including Zoo Marine (where you can swim with the dolphins), horse riding on the beach and some brilliant fun filled water parks all within a half hour drive of the house. Locally there is golfing, tennis, horse riding and a sports facility.
The water parks are within easy reach - Aqualand and Slide & Splash being the most popular. The parks all provide buses that will pick up you up and return locally. If you want to get away from the coast for the day then a drive to Monchique and Foia (the highest point of the Algarve) is highly recommended. On the way you could visit the castle in Silves and stop for lunch of chicken Piri-Piri in the small mountain town of Monchique. It will take you less then an hour to get there.
Two large shopping centres are 'Algarve Shopping' in Guia and 'The Forum' in Faro just 20-30 minutes by car. The Algarve Shopping, is a large mall which is approx. 15 minutes drive away. Here you will find a variety of shops, a big supermarket, a bowling alley, a multi-screen cinema (most films are in English with Portuguese sub titles) and a food hall.
Alternative ways of exploring the Algarve are by joining one of the many jeeps that head out each day (high season) to explore the unspoilt Algarve. This is a great day out for the family and will pick up and drop off in the area.
As Acoteias is ideally situated between Vilamoura and Albufeira there are plenty of great boat trips leaving from both Albufeira and Vilamoura marinas everyday. You can choose from a full or a half day and this can often include a trip into the caves and grottoes of the beautiful Algarvian coast line. If you fancy a drive into Spain then the border is only a 50 minute drive and Seville approx two hours depending on traffic.
Faro airport is just 42km away and is just 40 mins drive to the accommodation. As the Algarve spans a large area with wonderful sights and attractions, car hire is highly recommended to explore, but not essential for this villa as there are a number of good restaurants and bars within walking distance and the beach is a 5-6 minute walk away. Taxis are reasonably priced. Transfers can also be arranged for you if requested.
Albufeira Area
Acoteias is a picturesque little village with a tranquil feel and touches of traditional Portugal dotted through out its centre. Acoteias enjoys the best of both worlds; its has retained its traditional air and charm whilst still being close enough to enjoy all of the benefits of the nearby, more developed areas, such as Albufeira and Sao Joao which are 6KM away and Vilamoura 10KM.
Acoteias village is just a few minutes by car or a pleasant 10 minute walk from the house and has a large selection of restaurants, bars, shops and a bank. There is a fantastic selection of restaurants to choose from in traditional Portuguese, Sea food, Italian, Chinese and Sushi.
For those not wishing to travel too far there is a supermarket, bars, newsagent and restaurants located 400 mts from the house cross in the little square of Falesia. This is a great little square and is perfect for dining al fresco or having a drink whilst the children are free to play. In the high season they also have a bouncy castle as well as quad bikes for the kids to hire alonh with a BBQ on a Saturday Night!
Just 500 meters away is the award winning (blue flag) Falesia Beach with its stunning red rock cliffs and golden sands beach. The longest beach in the Algarve, it offers a great choice of facilities including parasols and sun beds. The beach is ideal for walkers and there are also a number of bars and restaurants offering various mouth watering cuisines to suit all tastes including fantastic fresh sea food. For walkers there is also the popular cliff walk which takes you to Vilamoura!
In nearby Albufeira there are an abundance of restaurants and bars with something to suit all tastes. Olhos d'Agua also offers a good choice. Further along the coast you will come to Vilamoura (about 15 minutes drive) which hosts 5 award winning golf courses. Here there is also a lively marina with lots of restaurants, bars, shops and where you can pick up many water borne day trips e.g. fishing and sailing.
There are many high quality golf courses within a ten minute drive of the accommodation. The closest is the neighboring Sheraton Pine Cliffs Golf Course which includes the famous 'Devils Parlour'. Close by is a range of courses at Vilamoura including the Millennium, Laguna, Victoria and Vilamouras' Old Course. There is also a golf academy and driving range.
All in All Falesia is a great little resort here in the Algarve with all amenities on the door step – sure to be a firm favourite with all the family!
Getting There
We are flexible with arrival days as a lot of the low cost airlines fly mid week. Check in time is 3pm and check out 11am but again this is also flexible and will be advised accordingly.

It takes approx. 35 min to the Apartment from Faro Airport.
Car hire is not essential for this property unless you are planning to explore the Algarve. We can arrange Car Hire from Faro airport or if you prefer it can be delivered locally.

There are only 16 Duplex TownHouses within the complex. The gardens and pool area are enclosed with a perimeter hedge and is gated. The gardens are beautifully landscaped and maintained to a high standard and will provide I am sure hours of relaxation! There is a large swimming pool are set admist the gardens and pine trees and are for Amendoeiras guests only. Garage Parking is available. This complex has everything you are looking for in a family holiday!
Just a 10 minute walk to the award winning beach of Falesia. One of the finest and longest beaches in the Algarve, backed by low red and white sandstone cliffs and pine woods. For the serious beach walkers you can walk into Vilamoura and beyond. The cliff top walk provides breathtaking views of Falesia beach and surrounding countryside. Number of good restaurants and bars along the coastline. Sun loungers with canopy shades and umbrellas available on the beach for a small fee.

The TownHouse is beautiful and we loved the Complex. The grounds are looked after so well and there is plently of room around the pools- we never had any problems in getting sun beds! Acoteias is a beautiful small portuguese town, The nearest beach (5 mins walk) is just wonderful and the pine cliffs are stunning (the best coastline we have ever seen). The Apartment is very close to the square where you can find lots of good restaurants. If you have a car its good to explore, we went to Lagos, Albufeira and Vilamoura, we recommend a trip to Seville in Spain! Thank yuo so much for a wonderful time, we hope to see you again in the future. We definitly recommend your townhouse for a perfect holiday.
