The Waterford Region

Dungarvan is the main town to the west of Waterford city. Located at the mouth of the Colligan river, with the beautiful Comeragh mountains as its background. The Museum traces the development of Dungarvan and the West Waterford area from the Ice Age through the Norman, medieval and Georgian periods. It features a historic photographic collection. The beautiful heritage town of Lismore, with its beatiful castle and garden is situated near by.
Activities include: a visit to Coumshingaun Lake which is a glacial lake, Mahon Waterfalls, Hiking trips in the Commeragh muntains.
