The Clare Region

Weather is variable, and in summer as this is the west coast of Ireland is constantly changing. On occasions of High Pressure generally the weather is settled.Temperatures vary in Summer max 26/28 degrees to 11/12 degrees. Winter generally is mild because of the north atlantic drift off the west coast and so is spared the extremes of temperature, so minimun temperature is about zero to max 15/16 degrees.
Because of it's proximity to the sea, the property is very exposed to high winds, and in winter occasional violent storms, which depending on your point of view can be wonderfully exciting to watch whilst you are tucked up cosily looking out on the wild waves crashing on the reef or against the sea wall at the back of the house. The place is steeped in the history of Irish Traditional Music, and is famous also for it's connection with the demise of three ships from the Spansih Armada Flotilla, which floundered within sight of the rugged coast. There is a wealth of local places of interest such as the Burren National Park, the Cliffs of Moher, Wonderful deserted beaches, Fishing and golf courses in abundance.
