The Costa Del Sol Region

The name 'Costa del Sol' (Coast of the Sun) refers to around 160 kilometres (100 miles) of coastline located in southern Spain, in the region of Andalucia, and within the province of Málaga. The Costa del Sol has been for many years a popular holiday destination.

The Costa del Sol boasts some fabulous coastal resorts with a great range of facilities and also includes a fascinating hinterland, with many beautiful and interesting places to visit. The region enjoys a wonderful temperate all-year round climate, making it suitable for visiting even during the winter months. It includes the city of Málaga, and the towns of Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Mijas, Marbella, Puerto Banús, San Pedro de Alcántara, Vélez-Málaga, Nerja, Torrox, Estepona, San Luis de Sabinillas, the community of Sotogrande, San Roque and La Línea de la Concepción.

Settlement in the region dates back to the Bronze Age, and it has been colonised and ruled by many cultures such as the Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans, Vandals, Visigoths and Moors, before the Reconquista.

The inland areas of the region feature some superb Natural Parks and reserves and some wonderful historical towns and cities. A visit to the city of Granada would be a must, other suggested excursions would include Cordoba, Seville, Ronda, Casares and Antequera to name but a few.

 

Nerja Area

Situated between Nerja and Torrox Costa, the apartment in Calaceite offers the best of both towns. To the left, Nerja, with it's pretty white washed streets, El Balcon (balcony of Europe), Nerja Caves, beaches, restaurants, and night clubs. To the right, Torrox Costa with it's beautiful sandy beach and beautiful promenade, (you can walk from the apartment into Torrox Costa along the beach). Torrox Costa also offers a myriad of bars and restaurants and the opportunity to dine along the prom and listen to the sea as the waves lap on the shore. Heaven!

Fiestas in Andalucia mean PARTY TIME. Whatever the reason behind the event, be it religious or otherwise, the end result is always the same - lots of music and dancing, drinking and eating and general fun and frolics usually until dawn over a period of several days to a week. We were delighted with the Apartment and Andrew was very helpful when dealing with him during the initial booking and on the day we met. The Apartment was exactly as described and even nicer than the photos displayed. It was very clean and very comfortable and I could have happily stayed there for a longer term. There is a lovely atmosphere in Nerja and a good variety of restaurants. I envy you the apartment and I hope you gets lots of opportunities to use it, hopefully we'll get back ourselves sometime, now that we know what to expect and where to go. Imelda Booth

Your apartment was really lovely and we really can't fault it. The meet and greet was pleasant and professional. We were delayed on arrival due to a large car hire queue and when we told Andy that we would be an hour late meeting him, he was very nice about it.
