This delightful, spacious, south facing (sun all day) apartment, with air conditioning throughout boasts an ideal location on the private development of Vasco da Gama with only 25 apartments in the most popular resort of Praia D'Oura. There are many beautiful golden sandy beaches in the vicinity, the nearest being a 5 mins walk to Praia dos Aveiros (500 mts), Praia Da Oura (600mts) and Praia de Santa Eulalia (2kms), whilst a short 3 km journey will take you to Fisherman’s beach in Albufeira’s Old Town. Just 200 metres from Vasco Da Gama you’ll find a tremendous selection of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and family friendly bars on the popular “Strip” in the resort of Praia D'Oura, as well as being located on the same road as “Kiss” Disco. Bus stops and taxi ranks are also within easy reach.

Vasco Da Gama comprises of 25 apartments in a low-rise block within secure grounds and gardens. All apartments are south or south west facing overlooking the interior of the complex with its large landscaped gardens, an adult swimming pool and children’s pool with sun beds and parasols provided for each apartment.

This is a modern apartment on the second floor is furnished to a very high standard. Equipped with TV and a DVD, the lounge-dining room is beautifully decorated with air-conditioning/heating, sofa, two arm chairs and a contemporary style dining suite with patio doors leading to a balcony that is overlooks the gardens and swimming pool. The fully fitted kitchen located to the front of the apartment has all modern appliances including a washing machine and dishwasher. Two large bedrooms have twin beds, fitted wardrobes and dressing tables with air-conditioning/heating. There is a family bathroom with bath and shower over tub as well as a bathroom with a large walk in shower.

This wonderful apartment is ideally suited for families and groups. We have received some excellent feedback from the clients in relation to the quality and spaciousness of the Apartment as well as its brilliant location - within walking distance of all facilities and the beach but still located in a private complex (best of both worlds!).

The Algarve Region

Portugal’s southernmost region known as the Algarve has established itself as a firm favourite holiday destination for people from all over Europe as well as the rest of the world. This is due mainly to its almost tropical climate boasting over 3000 hours of annual sunshine. With its stunning long sandy beaches, majestic cliff facings, secret coves and caves contrasting with the inland of mountains, almond blossom covered hills and quaint hidden towns the Algarve has something to offer for everyone.

There are many major attractions for all the family to enjoy including Zoo Marine (where you can swim with the dolphins), horse riding on the beach and some brilliant fun filled water parks all within a half hour drive of the house - Aqualand and Slide & Splash being the most popular. The parks all provide buses that will transfer you to and from the Parks.

Locally there is golfing, tennis, horse riding and a sports facility. If you want to get away from the coast for the day then a drive to Monchique and Foia (the highest point of the Algarve) is highly recommended. On the way you could visit the castle in Silves and stop for lunch of chicken Piri-Piri in the small mountain town of Monchique. It will take you less than an hour to get there.

Two large shopping centres are 'Algarve Shopping' in Guia and 'The Forum' in Faro just 20-30 minutes by car. The Algarve Shopping is a large mall which is approx. 15 minutes drive away. Here you will find a variety of shops, a big supermarket, a bowling alley, a multi-screen cinema (most films are in English with Portuguese sub titles) and a food hall.

Alternative ways of exploring the Algarve are by joining one of the many jeeps that head out each day (high season) to explore the unspoilt Algarve. This is a great day out for the family and will pick up and drop off in the area.

There are great boat trips leaving from both Albufeira and Vilamoura marinas every day. You can choose from a full or a half day and this can often include a trip into the caves and grottoes of the beautiful Algarvian coast line. If you fancy a drive into Spain then the border is only a 50 minute drive and Seville approx two hours depending on traffic.

As the Algarve spans a large area with wonderful sights and attractions, car hire is highly recommended to explore, but not essential for this property as there are a number of good restaurants and bars within walking distance and the beach is a 5-6 minute walk away. Taxis are reasonably priced. Transfers can also be arranged for you if requested.

Albufeira Area

This area offers great holiday opportunities throughout the year with golf courses, water sports, shopping, beaches and a huge variety of restaurants. Areias Sao Joao, offers many shops, bars, restaurants and clubs, many of which are situated on the 'The Strip' which runs from Montechoro to the beach at Praia da Oura.

For many visitors the golden sandy beaches and the vibrant nightlife of Albufeira here provides the perfect holiday ingredients. The nearest golf course is Balaia Golf which is situated in the lovely Eulalia area of Albufeira.

Children and teenagers on holiday in Albufeira will enjoy the Zoo Marine centre at Guia, as well as the English-Language cinemas, bowling, the lovely park 'Slide and Splash' in Lagoa is a fun day out for all the family with separate area for very young children to enjoy.

Zoo Marine is based in Guia a short car/bus ride. Zoo Marine features tropical bird shows, and aquarium, fairground rides and swimming pools surrounded by beautiful lakes and gardens.

Old town Albufeira is about 1km away. There is a mixture of the historic and the traditional flavour of the Algarve with cobbled streets and picturesque leafy town squares, plus a great variety of restaurants, bars and shops.

The beach at Praia d'Oura offers a wide variety of water sports including windsurfing, water-skiing, parascending, jet skis and the always popular, banana boat ride whilst scuba diving can be found in the next cove along.

Many boat trips depart from Prais D'Oura which is a great way to explore the hidden grottoes of the stunning Algarve coastline - and there are plenty of fishing trips available. There are many smaller quieter coves to be found around Praia d'Oura, around Albufeira that can be reached on foot along the coast. There are wonderful cliff-top paths along the Algarve coast in both directions which can be taken.

Getting There

Low cost flights available from most of the regional airports to Faro as well as scheduled flights from the main airports.

Transfer time from airport approx. 40 minutes by car.

Fly to Lisbon Airport and drive to Algarve - transfer time approx. 2.5 hours.

We cam arrange car hire from Faro Airport. Directions to the Apartment will be provided on confirmation of booking, the route is well sign posted. (Car hire is not essential for this property).

Rental Details

Prices shown are for the property per week in Euros. We can accept payments by cheque or bank transfer.

We only accept bookings with a minimum of 7 days.

A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the reservation, with the balance paid 6 weeks before your date of arrival.

A refundable damage deposit of 200 Euros or £150 required with the final balance and will be refunded with a week of your departure date.

The property is maintained by a property manager who will check in with you within 24 hours of your arrival to ensure all your needs are catered for.

Car hire and Airports Transfers can be arranged - Please request information at booking stage.

Cot and high chair can be arranged - €10 per week for a cot and €15 per week for a highchair.

A Z bed is available for 5th & 6th person.

Welcome packs can also be provided upon request.

Bedlinen and towels are provided on arrival for the relevant occupants.

A Mid Stay cleaning service with a towel and linen change is provided for all bookings of 10-14 nights.
Extra Cleaning and linen can be provided (at a cost) Please request at booking stage.

There is flexibility for change over day and we will always try and accommodate your individual needs. Check in time is usually 3pm and check out time is 11am, but we are flexible on this also.
