The Mosel valley has been associated with wine manufacturing from before the days of the Roman Empire. The wine village of Ellenz lies on the Moselweinstrasse roughly midway between Koblenz and Trier, which is Germany’s oldest town.

The beautiful and historic town Cochem is about 9 Kilometres away and offers all the charm and amenities that the Mosel has to offer.

The valley enjoys the reputation of being one of the warmest destinations in Germany or indeed central Europe.

Throughout the year there are many events the most important and in our opinion and the most fun are the winefests in September and October that take place in all the villages along the Mosel.

There are many activities to do in the area why not take a leisurely boat trip an even have lunch on board.

For those who prefer the more active pursuits why not hire a canoe

Or perhaps just hire a bicycle and cycle along the Mosel.

Within easy reach you will find the world famous Nurburgring, which has all the excitement of the racing world with additional pleasure, parks for the children.

For the historians amongst us explore the many castle and ruins along the Mosel and the Rhine valley.

As nature unlocks each season of the year you can be assured that the Mosel valley has something for every visitor. Although the Mosel sleeps during the winter the morning mists high on the hilltops and the un-bridled beauty never stops. The peace of the winter is something to savour. The valley slowly awakens in early spring as the days grow longer the Weinguts start to come alive.
By March with Easter insight and the buds bursting into life the valley is awake. From March until November this amazing part of the world is a treasure chest of experiences.

The highlights for every village are the weinfests and none so much as Ellenz where the whole village is involved.
Why not take a relaxing boat trip along the Mosel and view the vineyard and the picturesque villages from the river

And for those who miss the city life the towns of Koblenz and Trier are a short train journey away.

Flights available with Ryanair to Frankfurt Hahn , We then suggest Car Hire at the airport , Frankfurt Hahn is About 45 mins drive from Ellenz
or if driving from the UK Ellenz is about 6 hours driving Time from Calais
